Regen setting on MX track

Question for anyone. I run my regen super low on the MX track. Thought being it could affect the bike when jumping? Aka nose dive.. or am I overthinking it and it wont slow down/ stop the wheel in the air enough.
 
If I set regen to 0% I will occasionally find myself with the front end of the bike too high. I have never tried to brake tap, though (I always forget to give it a try) and the main reason for which I usually have about 50% regen is mainly that it's the right amount to keep the pitch of the airborne bike where I want just by keeping the throttle roughly constant with some not too big adjustments.
 
I run zero region and do a lot of jumping. I find it better to let it free well particularly when it lands. It doesn't jerk you forward. After riding mountain bikes for quite a few years I don't see the benefit of the engine braking. I also raised Motocross most of my life. For me personally it's got to be less wear and tear on the motor

I am a slow rider, so I don't want to teach lessons to anyone, but I just want to point out that I've heard instructors saying that you are supposed to land while applying gas. Honestly I am still focusing a lot on things that I think have the priority, like squeezing the bike between the knees, keeping the knees above the footpegs, etc. and I don't focus much on landing on the gas, but I also have a natural tendency to just land with the throttle tube in roughly the same poition of the take off, so I feel that regen braking or engine braking don't affect my landing.
 
I use 40% and find it perfect for jumping. It's easy to apply gas to correct nosedive, but ''wheelie'' correction with brakes is a bit harder.

Might be a preference thing though.

I also have to mention that maybe regen is affected by the power setting: usually I ride at 41% regen and 60 HP (I tried different random values and 41% felt the best and I left it there) but some time ago, after a firmware update, I had all my maps set to 40 HP and 70% regen braking without being aware of that and, while I noticed that there was less power available, I didn't notice the higher regen braking. 70% did feel like too much when I tried it at 60HP but not at 40 HP, so I suspect that, given a fixed percentage of regen braking, the higher the power, the higher the regen braking effect. Just a theory.
 
Thanks for all the replies! Im a total newb when it comes to jumping (second time at MX track with my own bike). Still learning to brake tap, knees over pegs as one of you stated etc. I will set it to 25-30% and give it a try next weekend. Then bump it up slowly to see how it feels! Now to stop being stiff as a board!! Lol In time I guess! Much appreciated ✌🏼

I recommend setting all 5 maps to the same power setting and set each map to a different regen setting. 20,40,60,80,100 for example. Then flip up and down while riding to see what you like. Do one full lap in each setting.

I came from two strokes so I run 36 regen. Most 4 stroke riders like regen around 60. I do run 0 regen when trail riding, but I've never jumped anything large in 0 regen. It's super easy to brake tap with a hand rear brake, so I wouldn't worry too much about jumping nose high. Just remember on the Stark, blipping the throttle mid-air will make the bike go nose up about 5x faster than a gas bike.
