Stark Battery Tech Thread

This vid is really great and knowledgeable.

Independent testing is a must but as he says, probably the most important and easiest test to prove it is indeed a solid state battery would have been to simply ask VTT to cut the cell in half so... why didn't they? I mean, they claim it's cheaper to produce.

So basically they're selling a 400 Wh/kg without Li that has all the hallmarks of a 300 Wh/kg Li battery. Best case scenario looks like it's a top NMC battery, with slightly better energy density than Molicel P60B (7%) and maybe able to charge twice as fast.

He's pointing out, as I did, that we'll need proof that all independent tests will be carried on the same cells (at least same cells chemistry), this is quite important.
It might be part of the scam, but it is a lot of trouble to scam this far and to take a product this far --though it has been done before. If it is a scam Lehtimaki is going to have lose weight if he wants to compete with the top rock stars in the snake oil field:

Posted it some time ago on this forum. Quite some people thought fake. I'm not sure.
oh sorry i didnt see it

the guy said that Stark is going to fix it with the warranty. The screen turns into the problem interface, i think its a very isolated case but it's true IMO

This looks like a countershaft axle that went out of allignent pushing the rotor out of allignment and thus shorting the whole thing. Would also explain locking up the rear tyre as he described and the short explosion.

The investigation continues...

At 80ºC the cell could access about 10% more of its energy capacity compared to room temperature
The behavior at 80ºC appeared fully stable but the outside pouch lost its vacuum in the heat

This will be more like the 7.2kWh battery replacing a 6.5 in an MX1.0. Maybe the is an 8.0 in a couple of years?

The 300km range (200 irl) likely be based on the 27120 cells

yes, all Stark next batteries will be on 27120

but with the 330wh/kg they claim we could get a Varg with a 9.2kw with the same weight... Restructuring the format to fit the bike with new cells is another story

I don't think just 8kW is worth it

IMO a Varg with large cells will likely be a new architecture designed around the new cell format with batteries not interchangeable between Varg 1.x and Varg 2.0
