The direct to consumer business model has been initiated by the initial order process without any dealers. Seems odd to do that now? Will these bikes come with VIN#'s requiring them to be treated like motor vehicles with titles etc., or perhaps no VIN like bicycles? I understand the need for a distributor and some means of warranty support, but I think the brick and mortar business model is over.

Any vehicle/motorcycle in a certain class per NHTSA regulations needs to have a VIN, Emissions Label and VIN Sticker. If the US DOT requires it, the EU requires it. Along with the ROW. E-Bikes really hit the limit of the regulations and really need to be classified too. I know in CA lots of municipalities are getting frustrated by e-bikes/scooters.

Live about 5 miles from Elite - they are a great dealer, get my KTM's and Service done from them, good people, I trust them as they've always taken care of me....I ordered the Varg direct Day 1 but plan on having it shipped to Elite for Assembly & setup and ongoing maintenance / accessories! Gives me piece of mind they are close!
