Just got my EX and mounted my supermoto 17” wheel setup and currently am running 15t front sprocket and 45t rear sprocket but my power train is cutting power at 83mph and you can feel it hit a brick wall and just kill the power it still has plenty of to keep acceleratin. I’ve seen plenty of videos where Vargs are hitting 103-107mph in plenty of YouTube videos on stock dirt wheels and tires. I was wanting to obviously find a way to remove this limitation and get a higher speed out of the bike somehow. I can’t get an answer from Stark or my local dealer about this what so ever. Anyone have any experience with this issue?

Hola!

Original sprockets are 12/48 and the circumference of the 18/80 Wheel is about 2140mm.
The wheel spins at max. engine rpm with 1075 rpm. The countershaft ~ 4300 rpm.
that makes ~ 85mph.
And the speedometer depends on the engine- rpm and shows ~85mph.

So when you use 15/45 and the circumference of the 17/60 wheel is about 1922mm.
the coutershaft stays at 4300rpm max. and the wheelspin ist 1466rpm
That makes real 105MPH over ground while the speedometer still shows ~ 85MPH.

This is how i understand it.
With the given max engine rpm of 14000 and the primar gear ratio of 21/68 -> max countershaft ~ 4300 rpm.

Check your speed with an other vehicle beside you.

Wow…..you make an excellent point my friend! Thank you for explaining ev that totally makes sense! Your completely correct, i will definitely be checking it against a friend in a car asap! I’m curious myself now to what actual speed I’m doing. I definitely thought i should see at least over 100mph and with you example math that looks right in line with where my head was at. I will check and update the thread when i get confirmation of my top speed with my 15t/45t gearing on my 17” supermoto wheel and tire setup.

thanks Bernardo!
