Hi All,

Hoping to get some guidance - Working on installing my Warp 9 SM wheel setup on my Stark Varg EX ( the rear tire had no issues ). That said, the front is rubbing on both front fork guards. Not sure what the issue is. The only other logical issue would be the wheel spacers received were incorrect. Thoughts anyone?

if you loosen the bolts on the fork guards and then hold them as far away from the tyre as possible before re-tightening you can gain some clearance. But otherwise what you have is normal. those fork guards were made to clear an MX tyre and not a SM tyre. You can cut some of the fork guard away, or live with some slight rub.

Cut the fork guards for clearance, we've been doing that for years on pretty much every converted dirtbike, it's normal. This is partially why Stark, KTM, etc go to wider fork clamps to get more working room for wider sumo wheels on their dedicated sumos. Also, if the Stark fork guards cross with KTM or Yamaha, etc, you may be able to find pre-made 'sumo' guards that have that needed clearance already designed in.

Alta Motors did not want to deal with special triple clamps and special longer axles for their SMs. All Alta Redshifts (MX, MXR, EX, EXR, and SM) come with triple clamps that are 14mm wider than what is considered normal for MX bikes

Yes, the solution is to carefully and neatly trim the fork guards minimally. I have an EX converted to super Moto with Warp9 wheels. Trimming the guards is the correct solution. When the new Stark SuperMotos come out they will have slightly wider forks for this purpose.
As to the axle spacers, go to slavensracing.com and look for a YouTube video that they did dealing specifically with the axle protruding slightly from the clamps. The axle is supposed to protrude slightly, and the video explains this completely.
