Look at the app version notes on the google play store it mentions traction control and flywheel controls. Not sure if this has always been there or it’s new.

My bike updated today to 1.0.218
Phone is on 1.0.185 (416)
Living in US

Took the bike for a quick spin up and down the street. Did not notice anything different.
Would be very interested in patch notes if anybody finds anything.

Contacted Stark and they replied almost instantly.

Me:
Today my bike did a lengthy update to version 1.0.218. I took the bike for a quick ride and did not notice anything different. Was curious what has changed? and is this the most up to date version for the VARG mx?

Stark:
Thank you for contacting Stark.
The new update is meant to fix bugs and optimize the battery software management.
We hope to be able to provide more information about our updates soon.

i am so confused. I got an update yesterday to 1.0.218 also, but I can't find any information about it. I have already noticed that the battery does not drain at rest as much as it did only last week.

Unfortunately Stark doesn't give us any release notes on updates unless they are adding range or some other new feature, in which case they release a video describing the changes. All along they have been promising to start providing release notes, but, believe it or not, they haven't yet followed thru on that.

I emailed Stark, this was their response:

Thank you for contacting Stark.
The software you mention related to the bike software, it fixes bugs and improves battery and powertrain efficieny, as far as visible features or updates for the customer there is none.
All updates on this new version is solving bugs and improving efficiency of the main components through different software strategies.

Today my EX updated to 1.2.8 as well. Looks like the bug with a deep shutdown resetting the lock feature was "fixed" - not sure I'm too happy about that as you now seem to have absolutely no way to make the bike run again if something happens to the phone. This can be even an issue with the Bluetooth re-connection which seems more active in this firmware version, but still is not instant or without hiccups. Took me a random sequence of shutting down the bike and/or Varg app to have the secure Bluetooth reestablished which is need to operate the lock feature.
