As we are losing the supply of old batteries, and looking into new and better ones, someone recommended me to to consider the products of this company for projects like Alta 2.0 kit bikes.

https://tiveni.com

The Tiveni packs are advertised as compact, light, cheap, and cooled.

The problem with going with a new pack will probably be software. The pack is probably integrated into the CAN bus and the BMS probably sends can messages back to the vehicle controller. If the pack doesn't proved the correct messages, the bike probably shuts down much like a broken display. Not saying it can't be done, but it wouldn't just be a direct replacement/swap, you would need to do some programming and have some kind of adapter to make it happen.

Yes, you'd have to use your own inverter, motor controller and firmware. The geeks on this forum are itching to lay their hands on some open-source firmware.

Yes it is, but I should be able to "simulate" an original pack.

That all sounds exceptionally wonderful.

That is very interesting and would be a welcome option for someone with a totally inoperable pack. Would be better than having a fancy garage ornament. There would be concerns that would need to be addressed, but I have no doubt you are already aware of that.

Have been in these packs a few times and I can say it will take some engineering. The electronics on the chassis side are fully dependent on the electronics inside the battery.
The controller is looking at all kinds of data from the pack:
*Total HV
*12vdc output (handled by the step down converter inside the battery)
*Pack temps
*Cell balance
*pos&neg main contactor control and status
And these are just to name a few.
The battery is more of a smart pack..
The software and design guys would need to do a redesign of large scope to fit a different batt to the Alta.
