Whoopsy moment ,poor throttle construction modifacation and lessons learnt :(

Hi so 3 hours total around 60miles on her ... 20 yesterday in beautiful crisp snow see photo perfect

Anyway all that across that on standard tyres at around 40hp great fun felt in controll brilliant across multi tarrain mainly wider forest tracks .

Got home hands frozen and when i wasnt expecting it from standstill id poorly mannaged my weight with a little too much throttle in 60hp oh shit . Fired her off and fell off superman style ha you gotta laugh it was my bloody fault .

Damage report ....

Plastics erm well shes ernt her scars oh well im sure itl happen again its

Frame engine and swing forks wheels footpegs etc came off unharmed thankfully

top bracket for bars phone holder part bent no biggie really i will just replace it she did take a jolt i.
have just redone all suspension and wheels she looks square and spins central again ....

But the throttle exploded when landing never have i see a throttle explode ....

I feel the plastic throttle is just too flimsy for even small drops or falls .ive ordered a new one but i shall shorten it by around 10 mm andput the 10mm on the end like a spacer proir to putting the grips back on to stop it happening again .... if out and about that would be a long heavy push home all due to poor construction . Maybe enduro hand gards will help protect that in future events but a steel or alloy construction would have a better life span .

LESSONS LEARNT

Pay more attention prior to pull off when in 60 plus hp
Go steady till you tame the alpha shes wild and no cheap date

Looking forward to putting her replacement parts on the bruises will heal by then ..... it was worth it for the fun and the lessons learnt .

Ya if you are going to be way out with a long push a chain breaker or an install of a master link will be a good add on. Starks are tougher than KTMs but have Euro delicacy overall so ya you can go through some parts especially going alpha in the gnarl

The throttle has great action but it is really just held to the bar by one screw and hard crashes can hurt it. I have dropped it on rocks in the gnarl and it has survived but ya I could see how a good knock could damage it.

If you crash and have a get off in the wetter snow I would be careful with the power button wet mud goop in that has left me pushing. The Stark can take a better beating than my KTM 300 and a little less than my WR450F. But it is way more fun than either of those other bitches...:ricky:

Your not wrong she puts big smiles on my face and i feel easier more fun and more durable my ktm 250 was a chicken chaser by comparison but honestly i feel the varg in alpha would beat my previous ducati hyper motard sp even in sport !! Shes wild ima just take my time a bit i was lucky that was standing just been flying at 70 .

A master link is a good shout . I think a small travel tool kit is required .
