Hi guys i made this thread to talk about battery related issues because y already have a few and my bike is 10 days old...

My case is that the battery can't charge to 100%, it normally goes to 99 and then shuts down.
And i have another problem, the bike just stop charging at random percentages, but always when is over 80%, sometimes 85, 86, 90, 95, 96... its like i need to stay besides the bike to just unplug and plug it again when it stops charging, and then it continues charging like 2 or 3 percent and then it stops again and again.

I talk to stark and they say that i should do a 48 hour slow charge, i will do it this week.

Another thing is that it doesnt seems the bike shuts down when it complete charging, it just stays on forever, my friend managed to charge his to 100%, until it changed to the word MAX, but it wouldn't turn off by itself. It stayed that way for almost 2 hours until he manually turned it off.

Good luck

Does the motorcycle have to be on while charging?
When I plug in the charger, mine turns on by itself. Even the lights come on.
And if I turn it off, it keeps charging, but the charge percentage doesn't increase.

The motorcycle technically has three modes: on, idle, and completely off. If it's on, the LED should be flashing green if it's in neutral and solid green if it's in gear.

Then there's the idle mode, which is when you press the red button for 3 seconds. The LED flashes red every 3 seconds. This means the motorcycle is off but in idle mode. Bluetooth is still working, and your phone can connect to the motorcycle.

And finally, there's the complete off mode, which is achieved when, while in idle mode, you press the up and down power selection buttons simultaneously.

If you have it in idle mode and plug in the charger, it will automatically turn on and begin charging. The LED should be solid blue.

If you have it completely off, I'm not sure if it turns on automatically when you plug in the charger. I don't think I've tried it on mine, but it seems to me that it turns on and charges automatically.

What you're telling me about that when you turn it off it continues charging but doesn't show the percentage, if you've turned it off completely, the percentage doesn't appear because Bluetooth has been disconnected, and the phone can't provide the information. You should see a battery icon with a question mark in the upper left corner of your phone's screen.

The lights turning on automatically is normal, but they should be off while charging.

With the bike in idle mode, I plug in the charger and the bike turns on, along with the front and rear lights.
Then, I turn the bike off to remove the lights by holding the red button for 3 seconds, and the bike stops charging.

The truth is, I'm having quite a few problems with the bike, and I haven't even ridden it yet.
The unlock button in the settings doesn't work, so I can't use it. I also got a broken brake sensor cable.

okey, you dont need to turn the bike off to remove the lights by holding the red button... just let it be in idle mode, plug the charger and let it turn the lights on, it will shut the lights off when the charging starts. And the LED will be static blue

The blue LED is the key for successful charging. There can be situations when the bike behaves like it is charging but the LED is yellow which means there is something wrong. Might be a problem with an extension cable or you wall plug so that the charger will not work.

I have not had these same issues but I have noticed that even if it does say 100 or max that the second I twist the throttle it will sometimes instantly drop to 95-98%. I'd assume that's the actual charge and it doesn't register until it's under a little load. Also worth noting that on many occasions I felt like the bike should be close to done and still read low when I was really looking at a frozen screen. If you close the charging screen and open it back up you might see it refresh. There are definitely some bugs but they will hopefully work the out over time and not ignore their customers.

Hey, thank you for your answer. The LED is blue all the time while charging but then It suddenly stops charging and the bike turns off to idle mode. I didnt get a yellow led. I know its not my wall plug or the cable because the cable is new and my friend manage to charge his completely on the same wall plug and cable. Its very rare.
So in conclusion, my bike charge for example from 10% to 85 without problem and then It Will stop and shuts down constantly that i need to press the red button in order to get it on and begin the charging again. So sad

And no, i dont have the charging porcentaje limit, i have It at 100%

Very buggy at the moment, even sometimes the power modes doesnt save and i have to restart the phone

Had that too in the beginning, but it seems to have sorted itself now. Yesterday I had an update pending on the bike, version went to 1.2.4 - don't know if that changes anything, but you may want to check on your bike as well.

This^^^ @Karinshi if you have a pending update you may want to do that before you do anything else. You may even want to do a firmware update regardless if an update is pending.

Also I wouldn't do that button sequence after the bike detects full charge on a regular basis, it might damage or overheat something.

i dont want to do that too, but im not doing it when it reaches 100% im doing it because it doesnt go beyond 85% sometimes 90%, because it shuts down automatically, and in order to reach 100% i need to turn it on again and restart the charging process, then it charge like a 2% or 3% and then shuts down again, i cant reach 100%.

i got the latest update of course

I

I just see It, i have It unable, and im pretty sure thats for the phone not for the bike

I Will keep trying some things in the meantime while i wait for Stark to respond
Just in case you’re unaware, the fan on the charger sometimes stops (charger doesn’t always need it though the entire charge cycle), but it’s still charging.

Yes i know, normally if you charge It above 1kw It stays on, i see It stops on 0.8kw and below
But i know my bike stops charging because It shuts down and the LED goes blinkin red wich means idle mode instead of blue and i need to switch on the bike again to begin charging

@Karinshi I wouldn't force the bike to 100%. Actually I never charge my battery that high with my system which is working properly. I keep it below 95% and 90% is even better if you can get enough riding time.

I am guessing you have some bad cells in your battery that are on the edge. Have you contacted Stark support and they are going to replace your battery?

You're right. I don't really need to keep it at 100% all the time, but supposedly the first charge is recommended to be 100%. When I tried that the first day, it wasn't possible, and it hasn't been possible since. That's why I want to know if the battery really has a problem. I've contacted Stark, and so far they've recommended a 48-hour extended charge, but they haven't specified how to do it other than that I can't do it because my bike shuts off. So, what they told me isn't useful. I'm exchanging messages with them at the moment, lets see what happens.
