Hi guys

I had a problem mounting my supermoto wheels and I'd like to know if you can help me.

I've mounted the Galfer disc DF606SM which a lot of people have on the Varg and the 320mm KTM adapter that also a lot of people have. I've attached a video where you can see that the rivets that join the black floating piece of the disc are hitting the 320mm adapter, and the only solution I see is to sand the adapter to create a gap.

VIDEO (IS NOT A VIRUS TRUST ME): mp4: varg disc problem.mp4

A friend tells me it could be that the hub bearings aren't perfectly centered. I bought a new SMPro rim.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Also, after finishing the wheel mounting, I noticed that the suspension isn't level; it's chopper-style, very low in the rear. Do you recommend adding preload to the spring, by twisting the spring to raise it? Any other suspension adjustments? For now, I've set the compression to the maximum because it felt too soft.

Thanks a lot.

Yes, This is the disc I ordered. I got the KTM brembo spacer. part number 77013914000. The disc is 4.5mm while the stock is 3mm so there was a little rub on the caliper spacer at first. I shimmed the wheel 1mm away from the disc side fork, but eventually removed approx 0.5mm of material from the caliper spacer where the disc rubbed.

Appears to be exactly yours?

Thank you for the help guys, the disk was a little bit to the left, but cant be fixed, i sand by 2mm the adapter to make a gap and now is working fine... the other solution was buying the Galfer SP066 adapter but is out of stock everywhere

I encountered so many problems mounting the SM Wheels... i thought i will swap enduro/sm set up "easily" and frequently but i was very wrong... im stuck on SM for a while now...

SOLVED

Thanks a lot

By now, you should have solved all issues, and could easily swap back and forth? At some point, the SP066 will be available near you, and you'd just put that in on the next swap. It's available in Norway btw https://www.motorspeed.no/galfer/sp066/galfer-brakett-gg-ktm-hq-sm-ø320mm-adapter-for-supermotard
The problem is that the rear wheel (tire) hits the brake caliper, and I have to take it out to put the wheel in while at the same time and with millimeter precision put the caliper in with the adapter that has a rail which has to fit into the protrusion that the swingarm has; with the help of someone it is easier but doing it alone is very difficult.

Then, the bearings inside de hub came with an offset of 2mm. One side has 0.9mm and the other 0.7mm respect to the hub edge, so the rear disc also hits the rear adapter, i need to put some washers on the disc to separate it... that took me 1 solid hour to guess what happened... 1800€ wheels and came with a bad fit of the hubs

The rest should be easy to change; the most tedious part for me is changing the front brake adapter for the 320mm disc from the original 260mm one... is very dificult to fit the caliper in place with such a minimal space between the disc edge and the rim... if i leave both discs at 260mm it would be much easier.
