After snapping number x (really i lost count) of the sidestand bracket from both MX/EX i was done with it and ordered some Chinese version.

Have to say i'm rather impressed and can recomend it to anyone but @markhamr who will hate it for being 12 gr heavyer 😜

If you people at Stark are reding this:
We know you love titanium, we do as well... But at some parts just know when to accept defeat, that's a great quality as wel!

Link to the seller, please.
Is the side stand still auto-retract?
Here is a link. I bought it on Aliexpress so i suspect there will be more sellers out there:

It's still auto retract. It's comperable to the EX sidestand in height. It however has the sidestand itself move less forward so less keen to bending inwards. And it's a lott stronger. I can pivot turn it on the sidestand now. Just thinking about that would have snapped the OEM one.

I now see they offer a full system for not that much more:

Shame i only hear about it now. I will leave on a big Enduro trip in a few days and actually ordered an extra OEM right hand motor cover as sparepart.
I really like Nice CNC. They make a lott for Beta and everything so far has been top quality and perfect fit. For Chinese stuff they're expencive, but they surpas quite some OEM/EU/US products in quality.

Chinese stuff is as good or better than any other place. But better will always cost more no matter where it is made. The Chinese have bought or built some of the best machine tools in the world and have top talent to produce top quality. That will cost more no matter what the geography though.

At least in the US a lot the reputation for low-quality Chinese stuff came as a result of American corporate buyers deliberately buying the cheapest products they could find and then (re)selling those products for the same higher price they previously did, often with the same American names for much higher profit margins. When American companies want higher quality and special features the price is higher for Chinese made stuff --the iPhone is a perfect example of this.

I think it's kind of stupid that we are happy to pay for aftermarket sidestand brackets. It illustrates the point of how bad it is on a further pretty damn good bike.

thats pretty true. We should brake, replace, brake, replace until they buy the chinese parts and relabel them ;.)

Just so yall know Stark has improved their bracket finally. I am not sure when but I put in a warranty claim for mine in July and was pleasantly surprised to receive this from them (pics below). I haven't tried a kickstand turn or anything crazy but it seems much more robust.

If I knew, I wouldn't have pulled the trigger so fast on the AliExpress one.
I just received it today.

It's 3D printed.

Just like the titanium footpegs and i tested them for 5 days Hard Enduro now and these are the strongest i've ever seen.

But the design on the previous brackets was just stupid. No type of production or material can overcome stupid design.
