I really hope the SM model will come with either fast charging or a larger battery, because without one of those it would be pretty disappointing. I also wonder if, in case it does have fast charging, it will be compatible with my Varg EX. What do you guys think?

I think as a technican…

+ the sm will be an upgrade of the mx / ex plattform with minor changes
- bigger front breakdisc
- 17“ of course
- same battery, maybe newer cells ?7.5kWh?
- same motor
- faster gear ratio
- better cooling? not sure. the cooling system is done quite well. the drivetrain with electronics has to be reconstructed to make huge progress

+ fast charging - i‘d say no - not significantly
- there is a reason to charge with <0,5C. and they offer slow charging also.
- long warranties dont like higher C-rates

+ mechanical stability
- maybe some reinforced parts

+ lightweight

+ road legal, at least as option

what do you think?

My guess is it will have the same architecture of the EX - same battery, same charger. 17" tyres ofc and larger brakes. Maybe different options.
CCS charging would be very nice, but that takes longer to develop and some serious changes on sth. like the EX

Recently (last week?) a YT'er got to test a bike that's due to be released soon. Sneak preview here (starts at 1:39)

My money is on the SM here

Is the bike that are being tested and blurred in the video the SM model or the roadster, adventure bike they are talking about ?

The SM is to be introduced this year (as per Stark announcement), the other ones on the non-scaled roadmap. Given that YT'ers release clips weekly or quicker, I'd say it's about the SM

Preorders should open real soon, deliveries may start a couple of months later, could be right on time for Christmas (in Europe).

I wouldn't count on anything fancy besides wheels, suspensions, brakes compared to the EX.
Maybe some tricks (software?) to prevent overheating at full charge on the road.

I don't think CCS or larger battery will be there. Onboard charger is a must for a street bike but I'm not hopeful (would love to be wrong about that). Maybe they'll sell a smallish "portable" 1 kW charger as an option?

The IG pic is confirmation of a new front brake with bigger disk and remote reservoir.

I can't see much else in the pic, despite messing with the levels to see if there's anything hidden in the dark areas.

Personally, I find drifting one of the coolest thing in supermoto both as an amateur rider and a as spectator and I wonder how can one achieve that on a Varg like mine, it feels way harder than with a 4 stroke because of the little regen brake.
I've watched some footage of a French rider, Adrien Goguet, riding a Varg and I've only seen powerslides and not the typical drift entering the corner achieved, with ICEs, using the disc brakes but also the engine brake. That guy used to be one of those masters capable of sliding in a spectacular way back in the day and still nowadays professionals slide, albeit maybe not as much. I conclude that it was hard for him to do that.
BTW in the pictures of his bike it looks like he was using a hand rear brake with a Beringer master cylinder.
Here is an article in which you can glimpse the master cylinder and read a comment about the low regen brake.
The idea of having a low power map for the dirt section sounds like a super advantage of an electric supermoto; I think that in that section the Varg is probably the best supermoto out there.
In the Flux Moto thread it was discussed that it could be possible to make sliding under braking happening but at the time, some months ago, it was still in development with not much priority for them. I'm curious to see whether Stark has done something about it.

Highly doubt Christmas...

What's more likely to happen is pre orders will be end of October/November. With first deliveries in February (without a concrete date). Word is Stark doesn't want the fiasco that was the EX release... FFS they weren't even legal in Spain (or basically anywhere else) when "released".

As for the bike, I'm 99.9% sure it the EX only with the SM standard add ons (from the mules I've seen)

One question I do have for Stark though, is will the SM be able to pass standard road bike tests as is? Enduros are given a fair bit of wiggle room over street bikes here in Spain (rest of EU also?).
