    Gear Oil Creamy Color ?

Did you happen to see what the oil looked like after it sat overnight? That could well be aeration, tiny bubbles making it look cloudy.

EXR wont turn on -- Solved

I got a message from @SarahShoemaker (about a month ago) that the bike is dead again. It had been sitting since the last repair because the tire was flat. Sarah, I can't seem to find your direct contact info. Reach out to me when you can. I'm sure I can walk you or your husband through...

    The Alta Factory LHRB

I have had some luck by removing the white plastic disc inside the reservoir, tipping the bike on the right side, and pumping the lever. Also, I've left the bike on it's side overnight. I don't know why that would help, but it has. Push bleeding from the caliper up to the MC is helpful...

    The Alta Factory LHRB

This corresponds with what I found when I was messing around with the DIY rear brake. Hard to lock the wheel with the 10mm, easier to lock up the wheel with the 9mm. I find the 9mm works very well for the enduro racing, traction is usually low so it's easy to lock the rear and swing the bike...

Free MX ride day south central Pennsylvania, rescheduled for summer

The new owner (leasee?) has a track 1/2 a mile from my workplace, MX23, in Mass. It's been there for years but the town has been trying to shut it down for years due to the noise. I had a project at work where I needed to go to the local P&Z meetings to get a building permit. I had been a...

    The Alta Factory LHRB

I wonder if that was a supply constraint issue. The 9mm is definitely more difficult to get.

Anyone in Northeast have multi-tool setup?

We have a plan in place, we also found the parts that we might need to fix his SM. Looks like it'll be a couple of weeks before our schedules sync up, though Hey @jhachmann0619 , good to talk with you last night!

    The Alta Factory LHRB

I have no problem locking up the rear wheel when I want to with the 9mm MC. Actually, the feel/feedback/modulation is fantastic

    The Alta Factory LHRB

The cylinder bore is 9mm vs 10mm. The banjo fitting is the same for both units. If understand the hydraulics correctly, the smaller bore and piston give a higher pressure for the given amount of piston travel and force applied by the hand to the lever. So, the 9mm unit will apply a higher...

Rear brake master cylinder mount. Has it been broken?

That's what Rick told me at the time. No one at Alta had seen this damage / break before. I was racing the bike when it happened, shit happens. I low sided the bike in the woods, and must have gotten it *just* right to snap that boss of the RBH. It's all fine now.

    The Alta Factory LHRB

This is not the correct MC. This one is 10mm. It'll work, but Alta used a 9mm in the factory kit.

    The Alta Factory LHRB

The KTM part number for the left had brake master cylinder is 79202030044. It's a 9mm bore, not a 10mm that most of the bikes use for the clutch. The Brembo pn number for the 9mm is 10.9203.49 The KTM part is the Brembo part.

Rear brake master cylinder mount. Has it been broken?

Yup. Broke mine. Alta claimed it never happened before. Of course that wasn’t the case. I modified a new gear box cover by welding a plate on it to mount the foot brake to. It works.

Uploading SM maps to the EX?

@Oded , agreed. But what we don't see are the previous revision notes or the final revision notes. It anyone guess as to what else is in the Erzberg FW.

Uploading SM maps to the EX?

This weekend I might have time (weather permitting) to play around with different FWs and different bikes. I hope to verify what @Oded is seeing. Here's a quick recap, and this is subjective as I have not verified my "butt dyno" with a real dyno. I have plans to get some dyno time with...

Cone valve wp forks on an Alta

You're going to want more clearance between the RBH and the reservoir can. As the rear suspension compresses, that can moves straight back about 1/2" at full compression.
