People with SM's probably have a better reference to compare range. I agree the chain adds some drag, but nowhere near enough to account for the difference. What was Alta's original range claim for SM's?

So a range of 80 miles at 40-45 MPH with a 4kWH battery.. Based on the Alta, which gets about half the range with a battery that is 40% larger.. something doesn't add up to me. What am I missing?

I would definitely try some epoxy on the crack above where you drill a hole to limit propagation. But you might want to pick up a spare. Not sure how many are left but I'm sure they won't be available forever.

So 25% is the optimal storage? That's good to know. Also, I've read that these batteries are best stored cold, even freezing correct? Mine stays out in a shed, it's been averaging 2-4 degrees C. As far as charging goes, I keep it near 50%, charge it up to 100% right before I'm ready to ride...

So the V2 boards do not have the LCD display on them, but simply allow the bike to think there is a normal display correct? So you would have to use MT to determine your bikes SOC right?
