General Do Electric Motorcycles Ever Catch on Fire?

I can't recall hearing of a single case of an Alta catching fire, unless possibly one of the test bikes had an incident during testing. But we would need one of the ex-alta guys to chime in on that.

Alta One Moto Show - Colton Alta art

That is a cool looking SM. So far I have only managed to put 5500 miles on my EXR, but summer is coming!

    Alta Range Anxiety

Well, not really any more. I have done enough riding with the bike now that I know what it can do under various conditions. About the only time I have any concerns about range is when I am exploring a new trail and don't really know how long it is, when it may be many miles longer than...

General Do you miss using a clutch?

Nope, don't miss it a bit. I have managed to adapt my technique to compensate for the difference. Although I'm not a racer, or even all that fast, I find the Alta far more pleasant to ride in the woods and single track than any of my ICE bikes.

You with EX and EXR’s must do this…

I live near the base of Buck MTN. An uncounted number of corners, 3100 vertical feet, and no pavement... We all have our crosses to bear.

If only I lived near enough paved roads, it sure sounds like fun!

I wondered when I saw that, but just figured I wasn't awake enough yet to see straight.

General 15:50 Gear Ratio on EXR

Unless you are measuring speed by GPS, you will not see a difference in indicated speed. The display on the dash is calculated off motor RPM...

Only the SM has the onboard charger from the factory.

    Anyone Using 16:53 Gear Ratio

The trail surface material will greatly impact range, soft sand/dirt/whatever will reduce range while the hardpack gravel/rock/pavement I ride on will allow me to go further on a charge. My typical max range at home is 33-35 miles. That said, I am not a racer, I'm old and slow just riding...

    Does this look/sound ok?

Sounds just like mine, you are good to ride. Now go make us some videos from out on the trail!

Confused about watt numbers for a 240v genarator

Worst case, the generator will probably stall out and shut down. If you have a 4800w base load, a 6000w unit ought to be capable. Assuming you are trying to use it at or below 2500m elevation.

Newbie need advice on a generator

This one is just above your budget, but will do the trick with capacity to spare. Harbor freight predator Or another popular option here that is more reasonably priced Briggs inverter generator these should give you some idea what is out there that will do the job quietly.

Newbie need advice on a generator

Any closed frame inverter generator that produces 240v will check all the boxes you want. Depending on your budget I could give you a few suggestions for specific models.

STARK VARG (Something new is coming!)

I will believe car or motorcycle mfgs will agree on a single battery standard just like the power tool makers have. But it's nice to dream about the possibility.
