    I made up a simple light bar mount using the mirror mounts, a short pigtail with a split all connected by trx connectors so I can replace parts as needed and it all fits in a cheap bicycle handlebar bag nice and clean.

    Using an R/C car battery pack, should be good for 5+ hrs on a charge by my calculations.

    I take mine through water crossings like that every winter, the electrics and battery are sealed enough to take it. Your wheel bearings are the most likely to suffer water damage, the rest of the bike will be fine.

    I get what you're describing on my bike, coming from the chain. I can make it a little quieter for a while by putting a fresh dose of chain lube on, but by the end of the ride, it gets louder again.
