flipped the bike and smashed the dual sensor Hirschmann throttle and LCD. Cracked the glass: still had backlight and bike still worked but no graphics. Looks like the microprocessor chip also drives the graphics and i suppose it popped only that portion of the chip, cuz soldering in a new LCD...
I don’t see that working even if the Alta safety checks were bypassed because a real clutch works by capturing the flywheel action of the motor which is a lot more instantaneous power than the power band of electric bikes w/o that feature. My workaround is to keep the stock MXR 12T/53T gear...
Excellent teardown. The 2-sensor design might be used for redundancy AFTER startup checklist but BEFORE startup, it is used as a parity check to confirm throttle position. Both sensors are required to work or the ACM will not pass the startup checklist. Here is a link to their datasheet...
Hello, please add me to the list for a couple sets. Mine are worn out at the seal contact surface. If it looks like it’s not going to happen for a long time, would you mind sharing the drawing? I can get a quote from sendcutsend.com. I have read from several sources they are quite reasonable...
I am also looking for an Alta Vault (Display Guard). Noticed the maker’s web site is down. Are they not being made any more? And if not, then does anyone have the CAD file to have one made?
Comprehensive Post. We did a 4 x Segway x160 (4 KWH total) battery solution feeding a 48vdc to 240vac pure sine wave inverter. These 20lb batteries can be had for cheap since most owners upgrade them immediately.
Sounds like California is a bit pickier. You drop off your bike at a DMV Certified "Brake & Light" shop and they test everything and issue a written verification. Both front and rear brake switches must work.
To deal with the LHRB and lack of stop light switch issue, I epoxied a Hall Effect transistor and magnet to the brake lever/master cylinder and fabricated a harness that contains a lo-signal trigger relay. The 12VDC needed to power the 40ma trigger circuit is attached to the ACU's 12V Aux...
Still missing this top plastic piece. Appears to hold the brake light and the turn signal lights. Does anyone have this part laying around? Think the part number is 6103104-00 ASY, RETAINER, TAIL LIGHT WITH INSERTS
Got the SM Fender installed on the MXR. And ordered the brake light, beaver tail plastic and left and right tail light and M5 Phillips screws. The only part still needed is the metal brake light / license tag bracket. At least it’s possible to fabricate.
I stand corrected. thanks for that info. It was an incorrect assumption on my part due to my B&S Q6500 will stall if I enable the "QPT" (quiet power technology) mode that varies the idle based on the current draw. Disabling that mode so the engine would run at full speed regardless of power was...
