    Converted 3 More

I took my 2019 EXR to the Scottsdale Pavilions Electric Car Show last week. Three bikes, mine and two zeros. One of the zeros drove up from Tucson. No one even knew Alta’s existed, but interest was high. I have a more qualified answer WRT it’s “one” of the best dirt bikes I’ve ever owned and by...

EcoBikeAdv to open an e-bike/e-moto park in the sierras

Yeah, that’s definitely a road sign, not sure if it portends the future, but it’s definitely a sign, and its a GREEN sign. :-)

    MXR charging issue

    Glad you figured it out.

    MXR charging issue

My house line voltage drops from 119ish to 113ish (as measured by the monitor) and stays @ 114ish so... I was speculating the charger adjusts current based on initial conditions. I didn’t think it was related to supply line limits, but I’m not sure. I haven’t checked what it does when on my...

    MXR charging issue

If you want to do high voltage, I recommend you use a current clamp device like this. CrocSee AC 80-260V 100A CRS-022B LCD Display Digital Current Voltage Power Energy Frequency Power Factor Multimeter Ammeter Voltmeter with 100A Split Core Current Transformer...

    MXR charging issue

And all the monitor is going to do is tell you if the current draw makes sense relative to the feedback the display is telling you. I think the fact the fan isn’t turning on means you hear the relay pull in, but a contact isn’t making contact.

    MXR charging issue

Right, kill a watt only works for 110 vac, but it’s sounding like a bike issue not a charger issue.

    MXR charging issue

I have a P3 P4400 Kill A Watt Electricity Usage Monitor. It’s a simple plug in monitor and costs less than $20, several HW supplies sell it. It reports, voltage, current, power factor, etc... point being at least you would know if the standard charger is drawing ~11.4 amps when charging or not...

    Sur-ron and Alta MX

They definitely sounded like they were having fun. I routinely giggle in my helmet too and let out an occasional grunt when coming up a bit short on something.

    Late to the party

Yup, Uly owner as well. Another extraordinarily functional motorcycle. An unexpected wheelie monster with outstanding suspension & handling, I loved that thing, even the motor... and I really do $@&#%^* hate Harley, so that says a lot. RD 350 owner from 1976 to 1983. Road raced in 81/82. Sold...

    Late to the party

Your questions have been answered, and you sound committed to the Alta purchase. I don’t think you’ll regret it. I bought my 2019 EXR a month prior to knowing Alta was having problems. I was shell shocked (as I’m sure everyone else was) when Alta announced the production shutdown and ultimate...

    New graphics

I like the grayscale look. I vacillated between bright or subdued. Went with flashy, which isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Was originally thinking of Penton green w/ yellow mid 70’s style.

Blue seat or blue w/ yellow is a good idea. Tires are Shinko 705 for daily commute. I have another wheel set for dirt.

Need a grip, rear light and reflector

One of the first things I did to my EXR was remove the reflectors. As for the turn signal, I’d use a fine file then emery paper. Same for the number plate. Since the turn signal is a flat finish that’ll probably look okay, but on the number plate go with the custom number plate backing already...

    Supermoto 17" wheels for EX(R) ?

After I bought my Alta EXR LAST September, and realizing it was a great commuter, I bought a set of SRT wheels for a KTM EXC through the dealership I purchased my Alta from. I put dirt tires on the SRT wheels and bought a set of Shinko 705 tires for the Warp 9 wheels. When I mount the SRT for...

Cub Cadet XT1 Enduro - Electric

I’ve been using EGO products for the last couple years. Started with the weed trimmer and I was so impressed with the power I soon bought the lawn mower, blower, and hedge trimmer. There are multiple size 56V battery packs, but all battery packs fit in all of their products, so I have a 7.5 Ah...
