another Honda CR-e build?, nope its a Suzy!

Thanks so much for this information. After some measurements this weekend it looks like I am going to be able to fit ~300 cells (320 if I am lucky) in this frame. I'll be posting more in a follow up thread. But, regardless, this is entering territory where, based on the information provided...

another Honda CR-e build?, nope its a Suzy!

I'm confused by this question and I'm not sure how two discharge cables would work in an actual build. Does requesting open discharge mean this is a non question? How is @DonCox pulling 400 amps if she says there is no connector capable? Is this simply incorrect?

Man that is an impressive battery. Congrats!

Why not 96 volts instead of 72?

Wow. That will be cool...and fast! Yeah I don't think the EM260 can take you there maybe an EM550 if you are trying to stick with votol. I had a fardriver on a bike I bought for my nephews for christmas and it seemed to work fine too. I have no experience with these larger controllers (or...

Why not 96 volts instead of 72?

I am posting this for anyone who might come across this later while planning a build. I asked my contact at siaecosys if there were 96 volt EM260SGTP controllers. He said yes and they were $261 which is $10 more than I paid for the 72 volt version. This does not change things for my current...

another Honda CR-e build?, nope its a Suzy!

I'm having trouble following all that and it seems like you are as well. Maybe after some coffee I can process better. I don't think I have enough battery experience to give you significant feedback. However, I can say that chatgpt has a battery designer bot (ChatGPT - Battery Designer)...

Yet another CRF 250 Build but its my first so... ;)

I can't tell but it looks like your mounts do not have an offset at the swing arm. Is that right? If so, that would explain the mounting on the inside part. I'm sure you are already aware but note the lithium king mounts that I believe @fmxxx666 used (universal I think) have an offset/bend at...

Yet another CRF 250 Build but its my first so... ;)

Thanks guys. I was having the same question/issue as @bananu7. I'll post pics when the snow clears and temp rises a bit. This pic from Don gives me a better idea on what I'm probably going to have to do to get the rear left bracket to meet the swingarm bolt but still get in line with my...

another Honda CR-e build?, nope its a Suzy!

Well, in my case i don't have a twin spar frame to fit it in so i guess we'll see what happens! You guys have such nice clean shops. I sprayed half a can of kroil working out a rusted swingarm pivot bolt so there is powder all over the floor to soak it up where it leaked down. I ended up...

another Honda CR-e build?, nope its a Suzy!

that amorge has those templates is great data. thanks for sharing. i just sent them a message to request them. i like the idea of having more battery at the bottom for a low COG. this matters a little more in a bike that goes on rides and gets dumped and picked up routinely. probably less...

2019 KTM 450SXF Factory Edition Conversion to Electric Street Legal

Looking forward to more info! Mainly, would you be willing and able to share the exact dimensions of the battery? I'll be in battery planning mode soon. I am pretty sure I will target a 20s12p like this one. Based on my research so far, it seems like around 612 cubic inches of volume is...

another Honda CR-e build?, nope its a Suzy!

Interesting. I went the route of emailing qs motor from their web site QS MOTOR Official Web Electric Motor Leading Manufacturer. According to their posts on endless-sphere (a site I highly recommend by the way), there are a lot of vendors selling these motors and some of them are not real qs...

another Honda CR-e build?, nope its a Suzy!

This is exactly what I did. However, in my case siaecosys said "For sample order, we will only use express for shipping.". I didn't press the issue but apparently I should have as air shipping was $260! That was more than a quarter of the total expense. I just got my bike torn down and power...

Why not 96 volts instead of 72?

Thanks for the replies. The safety thing is what I was missing. With the 96 volt fardriver controller I linked earlier it doesn't seem like cost/availability are as big a deal assuming a 96 volt battery is not inherently more expensive than a 72 volt given an approximate same number of cells...

Why not 96 volts instead of 72?

I am planning an electric conversion and have read a lot here and endless-sphere so thank you to everyone who has provided information in both places. I'd be lost without it! I have read that most of @DonCox builds use 72 volt batteries (often as 20S12P) and it seems like a popular choice...

Yet another CRF 250 Build but its my first so... ;)

great to know that it beeps. thanks. something you could actually hear b/c you are riding an electric bike! i went (relatively) cheap with my controller which is a votol em260sgtp so i'll be figuring how how to monitor all those temps since it did not come with a display.

Yet another CRF 250 Build but its my first so... ;)

Hi Don. First off thanks for your contributions here. It has helped immensely in my planning. I'm wondering what the real risk (if any) is of ordering my battery with open discharge. I can see how keeping the discharge current from flowing through the BMS and some of its relatively higher...

Nice battery mounts! Did you fabricate those or did someone do them for you?
