Hmm. Sounds like tubliss (or mousse) is next. I tried running closer to 10psi on the rear and couldn't make it 50 miles without pinching it. Looking up some Slavens reviews instead of working this morning, and he seems to think that anyone running over 5psi has no reason to comment on tire...
I'm running about 15psi front and rear. I tried running between 10 and 12 last year, but had a nasty bout of pinch flats without significant improvement in grip. The YZ is running 12 without issue. Installed some rimlocks but Tubliss is on the agenda... just haven't got there yet.
All the...
Reviving this old tire thread once again!
Looking for a rear for the EX that won't just roost every time I think about touching the throttle.
The trails out here in colorado at rampart have tons of gravel and loose dry dirt, with just a touch of slick rock (but not that much). I'm currently...
I'd be happy to post my CAD/drawing for the part, @snydes . Just got a little lazy as I did the Solidworks on my work computer which is all the way upstairs ha! I'll add some detail about the design process and FEA that I ran.
I wish I would have taken more pictures while I was machining...
Hey everyone,
Just finished up a somewhat painful supermoto conversion, and thought ya'll might like a peak!
The pain was really self induced. I bought some left over SM wheels from liquid performance, and wouldn't you know: they had a great deal on the SM front brake assembly! That thing...
By mismatched, I mean that I had an axle pinch bolt vibrate out during a ride, but the replacement bolt I'm using has a different head/finish. So there are 3 of the same bolt in a row, and 1 on the end that looks different.
I'll see about getting some KTM bolts thought. Hopefully they look the...
Does anyone (perhaps part of the ex-faster faster team) know where to get fasteners that match the OEM Hex/Torx combo head and exterior finish?
I was dumb and didn't double check my pinch bolt torque after a wheel swap and now my front fork is mismatched and sad.
This topic has been discussed at length in a theoretical sense, but has glossed over some details.
Out here in Colorado, there are number of EV chargers near good trail riding, and even more near good supermoto riding. I think it would be great to drive the truck and bike out to a riding spot...

Just picked up a set of OEM SM wheels from Liquid Performance for my EX. I've got some tubeless slicks to install for some track days.
Are these rims designed to seat with a tubeless tire bead?
Finally checking back in on this thread after a distracting year... wow, great progress everyone! I've found some injection places in China that are willing to do scanned parts, but with how things are going right now, I'd rather not go back for a bit
In any event, it sounds like between...
This seems like a very bad idea.
Right from the get go, I don't think it will reduce drag much. The normal force on each sprocket tooth (or more specifically, each roller in the chain) will doubled... this doubles the frictional loss. Half as many teeth but with double the frictional load...
