crf450r 40kw with watercooled battery pack

Impressive machining and fabrication. I like it! The suspension choice is strange though. Front AER48 air fork but the rear shock is from an MX/EX. People usually try to get rid of the WP suspension components, but you bought them.

I see a nice place for a couple of cold beers where the gas tank was.

Lizcat - Swiss company offer full YZF KXF RMZ & CRF Plug & play conversions

The specs are similar to all the DIY project bikes on this forum. I am thinking 15-20 minute motos should be okay. With 38 hp it is like the Alta MX/MXR in Mode 2 or 3.

    Graft EV EO.12

@Azizi -- Looks like a lot of people will want to have a real motorcycle tire in the rear. If you allow people to specify the rear tire size at ordering, very few will choose 21". Will an 18" rear tire fit there width-wise to clear the swing arm and the chain?

    Graft EV EO.12

The company's owner is my good buddy. He has been producing EV powertrains for various commercial vehicles for a few years already, and for the last two years this bike, a side-by-side, and a quad have been his projects. The motorcycle, the quad, and the side-by-side use the same swappable...

video title: World's First Harescramble Win on Electric Dirt Bike

Which "extra weight" are you talking about? LOL! This is almost the lightest full-size bike around! Even if the battery were increased to 5.8 kWh, this bike would still be 30 lbs lighter than the Alta. How can this be?!! Where are those extra 30 lbs of fat on the Alta that we didn't know about?

Oh wow! He won the race by 5 minutes! Yamaha Corporation received more credit than it deserved, LOL!

If the charger is the same for the Varg and the Alta, and all that I will need is an adapter, I can then think of four reasons why I would want to use the same charger to charge both bikes: 1) When traveling with two bikes, it is easier to haul around 2 bikes and only 1 charger and a small...

Alta MX Cone Valve / Trax Suspension Swap

For your weight and riding, I wouldn't deviate from the rates that I have in my MX suspension thread by more than 1 - 2%. More than that, and the bike will be too soft/stiff/out of balance. I prefer the front ends that are slightly stiffer than the rear compared to the balance that most stock...

Alta MX Cone Valve / Trax Suspension Swap

Do not forget to use proper fork spring rates either to keep your bike balanced. Altas have heavy front ends, so the front spring should be pretty stiff.

Alta MX Cone Valve / Trax Suspension Swap

I weigh almost the same as you. But our bikes weigh exactly the same. You need to go stiffer. Dampers are dampers, and springs are springs. Both have their functions. You can partially compensate for the inadequacies of one by adjusting the other, but you should not. Traxx is just a damper, it...

Alta MX Cone Valve / Trax Suspension Swap

The stock MX rear spring is 62 N/mm, right? It is too soft for motocross. Here are the springs that I used on the MX. https://electricdirtriders.com/threads/re-springing-a-2017-alta-redshift-mx-and-then-revalving-too.8/ Also, @Mark911 found a way to install a KTM linkage on the MX. This...

    Varg spring rates ?

If I knew the weight of the front end, then knowing the front end spring rate would be very meaningful to me. The weight of the rear end does not correlate to spring rates as well. This is because the motion ratio is not 1:1, and it is not even linear.

    Varg spring rates ?

Yes, in my semi-professional opinion, it is a very good idea. Although, this is hoping that the Varg's default spring rates and the front/rear balance will be perfect for motocross, which was not the case with the last two new bikes that I bought from KTM and Yamaha, both of which had too soft...

Newbie need advice on a generator

If it is the exact same charger, would we be able to use our Alta chargers with the Varg? Is this Elcon charger smart and capable enough to generate a higher ~400VDC charging voltage for the Varg's battery… if the bike asks for it... politely? @TCMB371 @fsfs
