Well, no bikes would have been built in March 2019. The company closed its doors in October 2018.

It looks like it is going to the correct place to me. The link (Alta Data Port Cable) should take you to OneLapper's AOF page. Then you hit the Order Now button in the upper-right. Is that what yours does? Are you saying when you hit the order button, it takes you to the canusb-shop.com?

It is possible you do just need to update the firmware to use the rapid charger. I know I had the same issue on my 2017 MX with old firmware. It used the standard charger just fine, but wouldn't communicate with the rapid charger. Worked fine after updating the firmware to current. I am not...

Alta Representing in the 2021 NMA Calendar

That saw mount looks totally Mad Max. Just put a slightly longer bar on it and angle it forwards a bit, and you can ride right through heavy brush, small trees, and marauding hoards of fuel scavenging vagabonds. Also good for working your way through the pack on a crowded MX track.

Why do the 2017 MX's get overlooked?

You have to really appreciate the elegance of a solution when the production fix is to whack something with a hammer.

Why do the 2017 MX's get overlooked?

I actually like my 2017 MX vs. my 2018 MXR for trail riding. It is much more plush than the MXR, and just seems to handle better over the rough trails. Since I am not a Map 4 kinda rider, power seems similar to me, as well as range. I think the ‘17 MX is a great value.

For Sale Full set of white plastics

Well, from Liquid performance, they are charging the following: Shrouds: $50 each. Side number plates: $60 each (Although I've heard they are now completely out of right-side number plates!) Rear fenders: $57-75 (depending on whether it is an MX or EX/SM) Front Fender: $25-$30 (Although these...

    Questions about chargers

Yes, you can use the standard charger from the EXR on the MXR. And you can use the rapid charger on the EXR (and EX and MX - assuming the firmware has been updated.) I have one adapter left. Or you can build your own adapter by following this excellent and highly entertaining video:

Withdrawn Alta MultiTool laptop - Back by popular demand!

Well, we’d all like a bigger house, a bigger shop, a bigger salary, and more Altas. But I have a small house, a smaller garage, and a salary that currently precludes more Altas. So when the Mrs. asks me to justify half a dozen laptops for only two bikes, I suppose she has a legit point. Plus...

** UPDATE: The original lot of machines is gone, but I built a few more. Hit me up if interested. *** I've had a few requests to build a couple more machines, so I'm going to accommodate those for now. Got nothing better to do during lockdown, so might as well help out our fellow AOF'ers...

    Chains

My bikes came with non-O-ring chains. They were both noisy as hell, and they both stretched like crazy from Day 1. I would have to tighten the chain every ride or two. Frankly, I didn't really notice any additional drag with the x-ring chain, although the chain was fairly stiff going on...

    Chains

I happened to go with the D.I.D. 520VX3 x-ring chain. Although I would think any o-ring/x-ring would be a lot quieter than the stock chain. If I could give one piece of advice, it would be to not over-squeeze the master-link. The o-rings don’t like to compress uniformly. I compressed it a bit...

I finally changed the stock chain for a D.I.D. X-ring this weekend. Wow, soooo much quieter than the stock chain! Should have done that a long time ago.
