There are currently two updates out right now. 07/19/18 they released an update for EX and EXR models pertaining to a "short-to-ground" issue some bikes were experiencing. Then on 07/31/18 they released the newest update for 2019 MXR and EXR models to fix the “Inverter Throttle Fault” issue.

I believe you are correct on this as they did also mention in the bulletin that any model from this point forward that needs a new throttle would also need the firmware update.

After reading through the notice that's on the dealer portal again, the only models mentioned are 2019 MXR's and EXR's. They must believe that the only models affected are 19 and newer. We have a few 2018 MXR's in the showroom including our demo and have not had any problems with those bikes yet.

I think they have slowed down on expanding their dealer network for right now. They are having enough trouble keeping up with the number of dealers they have now in several different areas. They are still just a really small company.

Honestly that's crazy to me because I've yet to do a firmware update that took longer than 5 minutes and that includes pulling the seat off so it's not like it's a major operation to get the new firmware in the bike.

If you sent me your vin number I would be more than happy to check and see if your bike needs an update however I wont be able to tell what firmware is currently in your bike. I will say that pretty much all EXR's and MXR's are going to need updated as there is now an additional update just...

Display - functions and look up firmware

Just did a little more digging into the dealer portal. Unfortunately the portal does not display the firmware version or update history of the bikes. The only info I have is a date for the last data upload. I can however input a vin number and if there is a new firmware update for that specific...

Every dealer has a diagnostic laptop bought direct through Alta that is used for updating firmware and doing diagnostic checks on different components of the bike. The software will tell your dealer what firmware version your bike is on (and I don't see why they wouldn't then tell you if you...
