Red Bull Straight Rhythm 2022 !!!

I thought we had an Alta in the last 2T event. Either way, there must be the Stark Varg in the next Straight Rhythm for continuity purposes. And to increase the entertainment value too. The organizers will surely bend or re-write the rules, if the entertainment value is increased and the...

Easy WP fork tweaks (all models)

I have a free air fork mod for everybody too. Do not use air in your air forks. Use nitrogen. Auto racers have used nitrogen in tires for decades. We use nitrogen in the rear shock reservoirs. Why would we still use air in the air forks??? :p

Easy WP fork tweaks (all models)

Thanks, Ray! I think I can visualize the graphs. But I wonder if you have seen any good cross-sectional views or pictures/videos with good explanations. I am sure I would figure it all out if I take the fork apart, but this is exactly what I do not want to do, LOL! From what I heard, the WP 4CS...

Easy WP fork tweaks (all models)

Very cool, Ray! I really like creative ideas like this!!! I have once built Schrader valve air bleed hole adapters for my YZ450. I wanted slightly stiffer forks and thought I might achieve better results with air pressures instead of stiffer springs. They worked! But they leaked because I used...

What Should I do with My Bad Module?

If you didn't have a good module, maybe you could wire another p-group of six cells and throw them somewhere at the bottom of the battery. But you do have a good module already. I do not think dead batteries would swell up and cause any harm. If they did, that would make all EVs into time...

Remove seized brass inserts on an Alta Redshift in 3 seconds

Luckily, I have a spare "Delta wing". Thanks to @Rashid510 for that. But otherwise, I am linking a thread with various creative repair ideas: https://electricdirtriders.com/threads/little-brass-thread-inserts-in-plastic-how-to-fix.179/

    General EMX ready for pre-order.

I bought three Altas so that I can always have at least two of them running. My annual powertrain-related maintenance and repair costs and labor have been close to zero. I had to replace the BMS on one of them three years ago, but that was less work and less money than swapping a piston. Altas...

    Upper Triple Clamp

I am pretty sure Stark knows that some folks would want to install steering dampers. Perhaps someone should ask them what their proposed dampers and solutions are. I have never run a steering damper, but I am curious too. There is a chromoly steel frame under that carbon fiber thingy. So...

    Ktm freeride questions

Congrats on sticking with it, @Rocketz152 !!! Coming back from an injury is not easy. Take it slow and prioritize your health first. If you need to ride a smaller bike, so be it. I was out for many years after a knee injury. After that, I realized that I still do not enjoy anything as much as...

    General EMX ready for pre-order.

I only saw the €950 pre-order price. Where did you see €19K? Does this EV powertrain kit come with a brand-new Yamaha in a crate? Then I would say the price is fair. Although, selling a new ICE engine on eBay won't bring down the cost all that much. It would still be cheaper to buy two Altas.

    Top speed Stark Varg

Are you worried about keeping up with the traffic, or do you complete with the 450's at the track? My first reaction is that with 80hp you should have no problem either way. But, just like with the Alta, the big question remains for how long you can maintain the maximum power without...

Media Review Media Week in Spain - Electric Cycle Rider

I am sure the Varg, like the Alta, has a 3-axial accelerometer chip. It will show exactly 1g of downwards acceleration every time the bike is up in the air. Disable traction control when this happens for longer than 0.5 seconds. Problem solved. I hope the Varg has a 3-axial gyro chip too...

Media Review Media Week in Spain - Electric Cycle Rider

Ha! We do the same on the Alta by changing from the stock 12-tooth front sprocket to 13T or 14T. This decrease the mat torque by 7-14% and makes the bike more rideable at low speeds, allows you to pin the throttle and hold it wide open. And you can then use Map 4 more often, and the bike will...

Media Review Media Week in Spain - Electric Cycle Rider

What you are describing here in such a great detail, Matt, is exactly what Tesla has been working on. So, 14 years after they have sold their first car, they are still working on improving this algorithm based exactly on the inputs that you are describing. And that is so that folks never "ran...

General The "Big 6" will catch up... maybe in 4-5 years

I think the "tool" would also be somewhat complex and possibly expensive. If you remove the structural battery pack, then the bike can fall apart, unless it is held by the "tool" and two people. But I am really glad that this tool exists and Stark finally realized that there will be a demand for...
