It probably will go over 50 miles for most trail riding, other than sand and mud. Many of us have gone over 40 miles on the Alta, and the Stark Varg has at least a 1.33x bigger battery capacity.

For most of us non-pro MX folks, an extra range that comes at the cost of extra weight is not a welcomed bonus. I would rather have a bike that weighs 25 lbs less (235 lbs or 107 kg) and has a 4.5 kWh hot-swappable battery. Why? Because I can win on such a bike more easily and more often...

That's somewhat positive news. If your estimate of the Alta "gas tank" was 0.75 gallons, then your Stark's estimate is 1.5x times bigger. That is more optimistic than 1.33x @fsfs estimated. Good news for weekend trail riders.

    Battery warmer

I think wrapping the bike in an electric blanket might be sufficient. Just buy a model of the blanket that doesn't turn itself off after one hour. Or disable the timer.

Oh wow! Is the Stark Varg at 260 lbs now heavier than the Alta Redshift at 257 lbs?

Have you been one of those TSLA short sellers for the last decade, Mark? ;)

    Riding style/gearing?

It is simpler and cheaper to buy a new bike. So, I would enjoy your SM as-is, and then decide to sell or to keep.

    Riding style/gearing?

I think we only had one or two guys in Europe who were hardcore supermoto guys. In motocross we do gear it down often in order to tame down the jerky throttle, use a more aggressive map, and have more power at higher speeds. The feedback from Alta is that for hardcore supermoto an MXR would...

Did you buy that LHRB kit from Stark, or did you just buy a Brembo clutch master cylinder?

Owner's Review Stark Varg - First Customer Review!

If someone doesn't beat me to it, I will post that chart soon after I get my Varg. I will take it to the same DynoJet 200 where I tested my Alta MX and MXR. I have no doubt that it will post about 80hp, and it will be a plateau and not be an instantaneous low-PRM spike. Else, the bike will be...

Owner's Review Stark Varg - First Customer Review!

You looked scary fast by the end of Day 2. You were carrying a lot of momentum and accelerated hard only for a few seconds. That was impressive. Then you cranked up the power to 80hp and the natural flow ended. Those pesky corners started coming at you too fast and unexpectedly too soon!

Owner's Review Stark Varg - First Customer Review!

Wow, they are selling the rear caliper for that hand brake too?!! Did anyone notice if the Stark used the Formula Brakes rear caliper with the LHRB setup? Or do they use a single-piston Brembo (bleh...)?

Owner's Review Stark Varg - First Customer Review!

The piston size alone is irrelevant without the leverage and the piston travel information. A 9mm on a Brembo may not be the same as 9mm on a Formula Brakes, unless the leverage and the travel are exactly the same. You can always install the Alta LHRB...

Owner's Review Stark Varg - First Customer Review!

The Alta LHRB uses a stock KTM/Brembo clutch master, and it works fine. But in Bryan's video, the Varg is using a bigger LHRB master cylinder reservoir. It is just as big as the front brake master cylinder reservoir. I have only seen such big clutch reservoirs on pros' bikes.
