    Alta "Factory" Rider Dream

Sponsoring a rider takes money. I am not sure how much. From my last year's experience collecting money from the Forum to save/buy Alta Motors, I am not optimistic that we can pull it off. Feel free to give it a try. I can help, but I am not going to be taking the lead here, sorry.

Rediscover this day: It's been 3 years!

Google just reminded me this morning about something very important. Three years ago today was the first time I swang my leg over an Alta Redshift MX! February 11, 2017 there was an Alta Demo Day at the Hollister Hills SVRA in the Northern California. I drove over there, but instead of riding...

    Alta "Factory" Rider Dream

The real Alta Factory racing team tried to enter Supercross and Arenacross two years ago with no luck. They couldn't get in. They were only allowed to run in Endurocross.

Electric Flat Track at The One Moto Show in Portland - Feb 8

Congrats! This is a great showing! What is the weight of this tubeframe Alta flat tracker? I am curious whether it is significantly lighter.

Uploading SM maps to the EX?

Would uploading the SM maps into the MXR reduce the power output to 40hp? @OneLapper uploaded the MXR Erzberg maps onto his MX and thought he got more power in Map 4. So I am wondering I would lose the top power if I upload the SM maps into my MXR.

    Electric clutch

I just made it up. The 504 battery cells should be good for about 150 hp. I am not sure what the limiting factor would be for the rest of the system, other than the heat.

    Electric clutch

The motor current sensor that you showed us?? Or the firmware, if it ever gets cracked.

    Electric clutch

Would adding a simple throttle kill switch to your LHRB lever work for you and solve all your problems?

    Electric clutch

You can get 50hp out of the MXR for about 25 minutes straight. But it is also possible to tweak it to produce 100hp for a few seconds without overheating anything. It would be cool to have an option to have more power for some jumps and for passing.

    My Moto Van build thread

Hahaha! No, I am not living in the van by the river. Although I can, if I want to. LOL!

    My Moto Van build thread

Yesterday, I added a second MaxxAir roof fan in the rear for cross-ventilation. Makes for a better night sleep and better cooling on hot days. I am attending a business conference for the next two days and I am planning to stay in my van at night to save $500 on the overpriced hotel. Guess...

    Storm Bee

Are you saying it will have twice the range of the Alta? Or does "hammering" mean trail riding with an average speed of 17 mph? :D

    Electric clutch

Some people (not me) have a quicker left finger than their right wrist. That is the only reason that I could think of. A "clutch" could also be used to produce more than 50ph for short bursts. But for us, this would require hacking the firmware of the motor current sensor. That would be helpful...

    Electric clutch

If you can hack the firmware, you can add anything. Alternatively, you can add a controller that alters the throttle input based on the clutch lever position.

Re-springing a 2017 Alta Redshift MX (and then revalving too)

I've just read up on the RT LS kit. Yes, I did plug up those holes when I had my first encounter with the 4CS forks back in 2015. One of them works like a compression bleed and the other as a rebound bleed. You could probably use this RT LS kit with this revalve but you might have to back out...

Re-springing a 2017 Alta Redshift MX (and then revalving too)

Yes, I did use the RaceTech base valves. You also have to flip the white/right leg compression needle valve upside down so that you have two rebound clickers at the top and two RT compression clickers at the bottom. I am not familiar with the RT low-speed control kit, sorry.

Cone valve wp forks on an Alta

That is pretty awesome! I like the sound quality, there is only the wind and the clean sound of the electric bikes.
