Sur Ron Storm Bee vs Alta Redshift - my test drive

Yes, that's fine, but wait until they tell you it's got to go back to Poland to be fixed. Maybe in the USA they've got another arrangement, but if you're in the UK / Europe, you have to pay for shipping back to the battery factory in Poland, pay 250 Euros for it to be inspected to tell you if...

Sur Ron Storm Bee vs Alta Redshift - my test drive

No, we were on a clay track / dusty environment at times and anything like that could get messy and may cause more issues than it solves. A blow out with an air hose (or vacuum) and occasional bit of contact cleaner. Your hours are still quite low and number of recharges probably less than 30...

Sur Ron Storm Bee vs Alta Redshift - my test drive

Yes, they are a great bike to learn on and throw around if more experienced. But if buying used, at least you know what issues may come up sooner than you may expect. Your GF may suit the standard suspension, but perhaps consider using a heavier weight fork oil if she starts jumping it.

Sur Ron Storm Bee vs Alta Redshift - my test drive

I've owned a few of them. Things to watch out for : Moisture Sensor warnings - if you get those regularly I would take it to your KTM dealer to have the controller coolant grommit seals checked. Drove us crazy for months / even years until KTM finally admitted that coolant can leak at that...

    General EMX ready for pre-order.

Overall, it seems well made, similar to KTM standard of my Freeride-E's and Gasser 250 - nothing failed so far but not done a huge amount on it. I have given it to a couple of inexperienced riders who have crashed it a couple of times and its withstood that abuse very well. Some nice little...

    General EMX ready for pre-order.

I just use it for closed circuit practice on a woodland course. I'm about 13 stone and pulls me up steep climbs no problem and can find traction. A friend who is about 16 stone also found it had plenty of power in the tank even on mid level power. Riding position and size is OK for my height...

    General EMX ready for pre-order.

I appreciate people on this forum are very passionate about them - and with good reason. No, never ridden one, but I'm not doubting your praise. I tried to buy bikes on a commercial basis several times. I visited the Alta factory in San Francisco many years back just after they moved there and...

    General EMX ready for pre-order.

It's quoted on their website on the pre-order page -18,750 Euros. No, its essentially a Yamaha rolling chassis with a nicely designed system installed. They've done a great job. I spoke to the developers in Holland a few times - very passionate and have realistically tested the bike. No...

    General EMX ready for pre-order.

Nice bunch of guys who have developed this powertrain . . .and you can't go too far wrong with the Yamaha based chassis. But not sure they've got the pricing right - 19,000 Euros . . . would be a stretch for most to justify. Hopefully there will be enough buyers out there to give these guys a...

    Triumph Buys OSET

OSET is certainly a successful junior brand, but their bikes are fairly primitive. Their lithium battery packs failed regularly (we had approx 50% failure rate from the 10 Oset 24's we bought) and of course, it was never their fault. You then had to pay to get it looked at by OSET UK and more...

If you fast charge them or do not allow a full balance after each charge then yes it may possibly degrade to the level you suggest. We avoid fast-charge - and always allow the charger time to balance.

For Sale KTM Freeride-E's for sale (UK) - NOW SOLD !

The business is still running but we're looking at changing location as we're selling the land and building where we are currently based. . . .hence, also selling the remainder of our bikes.

For Sale KTM Freeride-E's for sale (UK) - NOW SOLD !

Not when you buy 30 of them . . . .as explained, not all of our bikes were bought with chargers. We were an E-Park . . so when you already have 15-20 chargers, you don't need any more. That was an option we had when purchasing from KTM UK.

For Sale KTM Freeride-E's for sale (UK) - NOW SOLD !

I have a couple of KTM Freeride-E's for sale. First one is shown below : KTM Freeride-E SX - this was one of the last bikes we bought for the training fleet - hence it had little use. This bike has been well maintained and runs extremely well. The bike is based on the 2015 model but...
