    European/Australian generators

Looks like it is just a big battery. You charge it from your house power and then use it at the track. It should be able to charge the Redshift twice. But that thing is huge and HEAVY at 276 lbs, even if one wants to spend $6K to buy it. It can be laid on the floor though between the bikes...

    MXR Kickstand

Measure twice, cut once. Use pieces of plywood or magazines under both tires to test exactly how much of the kickstand to cut.

    2018 Alta MXR Shock Re-Spring and Re-Valve

I am new to air forks as well. But if I need a revalve, my buddy Adam from Kreft Moto will come up with something. He makes the coolest WP AER setup on the market called "Revalve Control". WP suspension is all he works on. I already gave him a heads-up. My air pump, which did not come with the...

Tusk foot pegs on an Alta

Welcome to the Forum, Fog 25! So you are the riding buddy of Fod then. That's easy to remember! :D I suppose a slight forward slant of the pegs might be better than a rearward slant. Good point.

    2018 Alta MXR Shock Re-Spring and Re-Valve

Welcome to the Forum, Matt! A 4% increase of the spring rate is very significant, so a 62 N/mm spring (is stock 60 N/mm??) should make a big difference. But first try cranking up the compression clickers -- both low-speed and high-speed. You guys are way ahead of me on this one. I haven't had...

Tusk foot pegs on an Alta

Ha! You mean not horizontal in the longitudinal plain? Just noticed that. Slanted forward by perhaps by just 3-5 degrees, I never noticed that before.

    European/Australian generators

I wonder if I should exchange my DuroMax XP4400E for this Lifan... It is 20 lbs lighter and 4 dBa quieter... hmm...

    European/Australian generators

Shipping from Australia could be a killer. But Europe's prices could be a killer as well. I connected to a VPN and pretended I were in the UK. This is what Google found me: https://www.justgenerators.co.uk/pramac-p4500i-inverter-generator.html...

    MXR Kickstand

I would call Alta or the credit card company because you ordered a Factory kickstand assembly but instead received a DIY kickstand kit!

    New MX-R

In my experience, most motorcycle speedometers report 10% higher speeds. Not sure why they do it. It causes bikers to speed 20mph over and hurts the resale value.

    Questions from a potential owner

Yes, I am a two-timer, I admit it. The wife and the hot new girlfriend share the same room -- the garage. This is how real Alta-males roll. :p

    Questions from a potential owner

That is very interesting. In its MXR press release Alta advertised the ability to run longer 45-minute Pro motos. Yes, the MX seems to be cutting power when there are a few bars left. Several remaining bars start blinking and you feel less power. This is when I stop jumping all but the smallest...

What is your favorite piece of gear?

No such debate where I am at. Knee braces incorporate knee guards, plus they keep the cartilages and ligaments protected, which is something that, once damaged, cannot regenerate itself like bones can. I was an idiot that I didn't spend $2K on custom knee braces earlier.

What is your favorite piece of gear?

Thanks for reminding me about helmets, Oded. I love my 2013 Airoh Aviator 2.1 Six Days. Best color scheme that I have ever owned. It is light and comfortable. But I have still been looking for something that vents as if I am not wearing any helmet at all. Leatt GPX 5.5 was a candidate, but I am...

What is your favorite piece of gear?

My favorite piece is the Oakley Airbrake googles. They were expensive, about $200, but after a short while I realized they were worth it. Very clear vision, easy lens cleaning, best eye protection, and most importantly for me -- they do not squeeze my nose and let me breath much better than...

    Questions from a potential owner

Welcome to the Forum, Brad! My personal trail riding experience is very limited. But what I noticed is that with the Redshift you will want to ride more often. It is just so much fun, much easier, and less stressful and tiring that with the gas bikes. And you can ride just as fast or faster...

I totally agree. This is a very accurate observation!

    Redshift EX around my neighborhood..

Yes, with the right tires I was! I have never tried paddle tires. You may want to try Dunlop MX12 rear. Do not get their front, stick with MX3S or get a Fatty.

    Redshift EX around my neighborhood..

Steve, you saw my pics and videos in deep sand. I was running fat tires and super low pressures with Tube Saddles. The bike was rolling on top of the sand and was not digging in. This is the first time I tried it and I now love sand!

    Redshift EX around my neighborhood..

No, no, you look just fine. I was just laughing that the most dangerous thing on this bike are the ribs on the shrouds that are really bad on unprotected knees.
