Sprocket Selection - Ludicrous? Maybe, but it's working for me. Custom foot pegs. Still want a clutch.

Yes it is an adjustment (many of us have years of living with a clutch as second nature on ICE bikes). With the Stark the throttle is so good it is just beyond belief. I expected a little more binary behavior but is silky smooth. I think better software and maps would make it even better --like...

Sprocket Selection - Ludicrous? Maybe, but it's working for me. Custom foot pegs. Still want a clutch.

I would prefer an even better fly by wire system and better mapping. I am much happier without removing any power from controls for something like a clutch. Even if the clutch is a good single finger it forces riders to remove some of their power & control from the bars. I am convinced that...

    Stark Apparel

That apparel makes me think I am on Mykonos and I am American. I was half expecting the physical description of "Ben" to include his cock size... :ricky:

    Reduce Drag Stark

I wish Stark had included some kind of neutral or disengage. I know some people have been advocating for a clutch but in my experience I haven't needed a clutch for riding since the Stark throttle system is awesome. Maybe just some kind of disengage at the countershaft would be a great addition...

    Reduce Drag Stark

Even ICE motorcycles have a fair amount of "drag" even in neutral. You are spinning the wheel against the heavy chain and some of the heavy duty transmission all the time (at the very least to the countershaft). There is a significant increase in "drag" when you place an ICE bike in gear and use...

Varg ride log data consistency issue

I have noticed weirdness and erratic behavior with the ride logs but I was attributing it to the fact that I don't do any updates to the phone and mostly don't use it other than to check speed, mode, charge, and bike specific settings.

Post here your Stark Varg issues (or not!)

Ya that doesn't sound great. The buttons and tire tubes are known issues. The Pirelli tires were not nearly as bad as I expected and I am continuing to use them until they are worn out. IRC JX8s will be my replacement for the kind of riding I do. My bike previous to the Stark was a 2020 KTM...

Cold Weather Storage and Charging Questions Answered

Generally CMOS type batteries hold charge and last a long time in cold mode, and at least in my experience, "wear" from charge/discharge cycling more so than from cold static storage (extremes acknowledged). And my guess is a dead one was probably defective from the start rather than "worn" from...

Cold Weather Storage and Charging Questions Answered

I always leave my bike in hard shutdown mode. I don't leave my computers in standby mode for long periods unattended either. Plus, I don't need Stark going into my bike when it is unattended --any updates I might need I manage myself. Last, personally I don't see any reason why trickle...

Cold Weather Storage and Charging Questions Answered

I had my Stark in a mostly unheated garage from mid December to early March that got as cold as 15-20F. I left it at 60% when stored and occasionally ran a space heater on the very cold days and got the room temperature up to about 25-32F when I could. And I did start my bike about every two...

No E motorbikes in welsh 2 day Enduro.

The insurance is based on power plant? Do they have different rates for 2T vs 4T? In the US we would call that Mall Cop...:ricky:

Anyone have the Trailsaver axe and use it?

I got my Makita E-saw for 399.00 and I can get it and 2 batteries into a backpack. Clean and pretty powerful. 250.00 is a lot for a hachet which is probably not as good as a foldable handsaw for trail work/cleanup. On the other hand if you really like it that is cool I get it --for trailwork...

    Varg Red Tube

I have been following Jay Clark's method for years worked great for me on my Stark: Even had to do it twice the last time because I got the tire direction wrong. :muutt:

    Varg Red Tube

I think he meant the stock tires. The sidewalls of the Pirellis narrow slightly more than other tires (say Dunlops or IRCs) and makes heavy duty tube insertion a bit more difficult. It wasn't a game changer for me and the heavy duty IRCs I used have been reliable and great at low pressures.

    Varg Red Tube

I don't think a lock nut will help that much as there will likely be failure somewhere else and about the only thing the nut will do will keep the stem in place with either a torn or detached tube. I used IRC heavy duty tubes and didn't find them that difficult. I would still call it a pain it...

NEW! STARK VARG EX is here!

Well friend, that is sort of like challenging Elon Musk. These guys are sales guys dressed up in tech clothing. Almost nothing they say is literally factual. You have to glean the nuggets of truth like panning for gold in a stream (we'd have colony on Mars right now according to those tales)...

NEW! STARK VARG EX is here!

Friend, I have owned KTMs since the late 70s it has always been somewhat of a crap shoot on quality. And I have wasted many long hours of my life on everything from Bultacos to Maicos to Ossas and others. There is a reason they all disappeared and were largely replaced by Jap bikes --poor...

NEW! STARK VARG EX is here!

You are right about the buttons for sure. Stark should have bought those directly from Chinese manufacturers like the Japanese do. Farming stuff out to European subcontractors must be part of their tax deal or something. A lot of the parts on Stark and KTM(and friends) suffer from this EU buy...

NEW! STARK VARG EX is here!

That is a good question. I have no idea but software/firmware bugs would be my first guess. My entire career has been about delivering software/firmware/hardware on the engineering side. And it has been rare for us to ever hit the targets the sales and marketing guys promised customers. Just sayin.

NEW! STARK VARG EX is here!

Unfortunately that works for engineering or project management not sales. End sales is never about under promising it is about over promising. They know folks are waiting, psyched to get their bikes, and the deposit game lines it all up.
