Varg Down on power - Thermal Limiting

SX tour are typically 10 min races, 4 rounds outdoor then 6 nights indoor (3 double night events including Paris SX of course). Some french riders are doing 25 min outdoors but regional level, not elite. Edit: Thomas Do said he had a lighter battery for the last 2 rounds in SX tour. Important...

Varg Down on power - Thermal Limiting

Good catch, missed that, so that could be an issue for pros, and some specific terrain/use like sand, Supermoto, flat track. AFAIK it wasn't an issue racing and winning AX UK, we'll see how it goes in France SX tour with Bogle and Zaragoza ! For the Alta boys, did they change anything regarding...

Varg Down on power - Thermal Limiting

Technically it's perfectly doable to go liquid cooled for intense use as Ducati did with its 150 hp MotoE with 18 kWh battery (made of 1152 "21700" cells). Maybe the extra weight would be worth it for road legal Supermoto ?

Varg Down on power - Thermal Limiting

That and Supermoto on long tracks when you can keep it pinned for long will be terrible for this. I wonder if they have a way to address this for the incoming Supermoto Varg?

Varg Down on power - Thermal Limiting

These guys are among the fastest pro sand racers (Touquet), I think the first ride was fine then it got issues for the second run. Then the guy making the video (average rider) was able to do an entire sand race the next day or so without problem so this shows it's definitely not suited for pro...

3 issues with my Stark Varg in 1 week.

Sounds like the issues you encountered had already been reported here, there had been a flurry of hardware issues and it gets covered under warranty, your best bet is to contact Stark customer service.

AMA and Electric Motorcycles in AMA races

This is quite interesting, and it makes sense from their point of view to cater to OEM fears and slow down everything. Just don't see the logic for preventing electrics amateur racing? In the meantime, things are heating up where federations and organizers are freeer from OEM...

Varg Down on power - Thermal Limiting

Just surprised I have not really seen many riders witnessing thermal limitation before. In fact here is the only one I can think of: Wrapping ice or spraying water on the battery between motos should help, just not sure if that's really convenient 🤔

How long are we expecting the Stark battery to last (long term)

Over 2000€ for 3.6 kWh and 45 kg is a lot. You can put additional batteries to extend it up to 25 kWh. Obviously price and weight would be eye watering (4300€ total with one extra 38 kg battery to get to 7.2 kWh). It could make sense if you can keep it stationary in your van? Got to say it must...

Varg Down on power - Thermal Limiting

That may be a bit of an extreme case use (sand and national pro level) but they do advertise it for competition. At least now the limitation is pretty clear, I'm just surprised not to have seen anyone else reporting it? I guess the other guys riding sand must have been slower than you 😁 France...

    Varg production numbers / VIN

Complete body work is under $150, not that bad. And I guess from your name you must like red anyway 😁

So about 3 weeks from order to delivery?
  14. B

    Varg production numbers / VIN

Shipped within 24 h guaranteed... sounds good but what happens if they fail to deliver on this guarantee ? Now they're a bit more settled they should get out of this "over promise, under deliver" phase. As of now, they claim on their website to have 105 bikes ready to ship in 24h for Europe...

    Top speed Stark Varg

This guy gets 87 mph (140 km/h) top speed with standard gearing.

    Varg production numbers / VIN

Thanks, that will be nice to know how fast you get your bike. The obvious downside of having so many customization options is that you need a much larger inventory. Most MX you have a choice between the 450 standard or factory edition and that's basically it, easy. With the Varg 7 suspension...

    Varg production numbers / VIN

When did you order (if you don't mind)? Just trying to see if the 6 weeks quoted for Europe hold up. They're now saying less than 10 days for new orders.

Cool, when did you get it?

June update: Stock in early June: 266 (up from 190) Vargs imported in May: 156 (up from 123) May Sales: 80 (down from 85) Now that sales are finally opened in the 50 states and that Stark seems to have a few US warehouses with inventory these numbers tracked using Motohunt may be less...

    Dealership delivery

Cool to see some good news, hope you'll get it real quick. Wrong hp would be the best problem to have, it's all software, 60 hp can be upgraded to 80 hp online from Stark headquarters if you pay for it. And if you ordered 60 and got 80... I don't see a problem there 😆
