Man that would be awesome to have a portable charger to use at public level 2 charging stations

It seems you would need this communication adapter and the fast charger to be able to charge at a charge station with a J1772 connector.

So do you think that with this control module it would be possible to plug an Alta into a public level 2 charger?

Could the fast charger be the handshake box.

So if we make this adapter then we need to plug it into the fast charger correct. I believe these are the two connectors we need to make this adapter. Would appreciate if someone could do a wire schematic even though it is probably very simplistic.

I got a second hand set of 2006 YZ shrouds and mocked them up. Needs a little fine tuning but fit is not bad and the knee area is really nice and smooth. Would be good to 3D scan and add the Alta connection points

Thanks for the responses - my gearbox noise also went up when I noticed the issue - flushed the gear oil - since changing the gear oil no more problems, gear noise back to normal - still frothy which is apparently aeration

I will take both your rear fenders if they are still available.

I just changed the gear oil and went for a ride. Went through some pretty deep water a few times. You can see the oil is a creamy color in the sight glass - like water got into the casing somehow - or antifreeze, that would not be good. Any ideas on what happened.

How much time does it take to charge your Alta with this set up - also can you add more Tesla cells for more storage Very cool

Assuming your 18650 cells are 3.6 V & 2.6 amps for each cell I calculate you battery is 20 S (series) & 10 P (parallel)

I think that 2006 Yamaha YZF shrouds May be the right size / configuration / shape etc. I attached some pictures - would be willing to purchase a shroud off eBay and send it to you to try.

I used Turbo tax premier - I recall needing to get Premiere because it has forms 8936 (bike credit) and form 8911 (charger credit)

Regarding the charger credit you can claim anything you put into it, materials you purchased, contractor costs, permit fees etc. - you could argue that the cost of the Alta charger should be included as well.

I believe you could apply for the credit. It’s 30% of the install cost up to a maximum of $1,000
