You are absolutely right! The Redshift makes hard enduro, a little less hard 😊

The tunable maps will be confined to reasonable limits. Works well for the Zero range of electric motorcycles (parameters are user tunable via smartphone app). Don't see a reason why Alta can't provide such feature.

I use map 1 only when I need to preserve battery capacity. 95% of riding time, I am in maps 1 or 2.

Great report and I agree with most of your points (I ride the EX). Hand gurads are a must, and the cycra probend is an excellent choice. I also replaced the stock tires with a more road suited pair - Pirelli MT43. Terrific for road, off road and last quite long. They are trial - enduro tires...

Hand guards are Cycra probend. Fits well. I also ride smooth single trails, but rocky climbs are definately what I am aiming for. My favorite.

For the terrain in the video, map 2 is my favorite. For hill climbs with more open gas - map 3. However, it all comes down to how delicate you are with the throttle. Its resolution allows the bike to crawl up loose terrain.

The Alta is terrific in tractor mode - steep loose rocks and gravel hills. using the clutch in such terrain is quite tiring. this video is from today. trust me, the incline is much steeper than it looks..

Great review. Thanks! Perhaps playing with the rear suspension setup would help with the rear wheel spin issue over small bumps.

Most definately my EX have different regen between different maps as well. It can not be mistaken. I actually use map 4 for steep descends for its motor braking. Alta should know about this issue.

I also think that your requirements are perfect for the EX. I'd start with the standard charger, and only if it won't be enough, get a second one. The bike is a pleasure to ride.
