This type of failure probably took thousands of psi of hydraulic pressure built up in a wrong chamber. I don't think bleeding 2-3 psi of air pressure would have prevented this.

You should just use your stock spacers in your custom wheels. They are not pressed in, they come out easily if you pull on them.

Are you guys talking about the same ratio? On the Alta the primary reduction ratio is 3.5 : 1, and the motor spins at ~14,000 RPM. Does 10 :1 include the chain drive ratio?

If you go with the 2014MY 250 2-stroke, you won't go wrong. Yes, the O-ring chains work awesome. They are much quieter and do not need lube. Just do not blast the O-rings with a pressure washer.
