    New place for display

WTH? What did you do? This looks like a thermal strip to me. We should install those on our batteries.

Opinion on Value of a Used MXR with a Busted Display

If you are not in a rush, politely (not to antagonize them unnecessary) name what you would pay, and wait for them to accept it over the next several weeks.

Opinion on Value of a Used MXR with a Busted Display

$10K is way-way too much. I'd then buy a new VIN #444 from the Classifieds instead.

    Battery Pack Disassembled (Frustrating Weekend)

And you two are within an hour from each other too. And you have all those Sony batteries next door. Very nice! Please build me a 10 kWh battery pack with a programmable controller!

    Snowbike build...?

It's the batteries that you may need to keep warm, not the controller. The batteries do not have any cooling going to them. You'd need an electric heat blanket instead. Or do not stop with a low battery for too long.

Opinion on Value of a Used MXR with a Busted Display

The dealer should be able to check the hours and the mileage with a diagnostics laptop. If it has had the latest firmware but hasn't had a fault code yet, then I'd say it is unlikely to have it in the future. That's the good part about buying used bikes. Scare the dealer that you are buying a...

    Snowbike build...?

There you go, an inspiration for you: Now for something completely different... The batteries must be kept above 32F, or the controller won't let you charge them. Can't take long smoke breaks!

EV West has a Redshift... and a ****load of Alta batteries

It would probably cost more than it would to buy an Alta's frame with the rest of the bike pieces attached. Why would you want an aftermarket frame? Are you thinking about building a complete new DIY electric dirt bike? If you are thinking about starting an electric dirt bike company, I would...

EV West has a Redshift... and a ****load of Alta batteries

Hey now, folks might not know this because this hasn't been mentioned on this forum before! ...I think.

Go Go Charger, other chargers, adapters

I think this should be a perfect start, since you already have an EXR but no compact charger to take on the road with you. The SM has a charger tucked somewhere into the "gas tank" area. But you can't buy those without buying an SM. Although, honestly, we haven't tried.

EV West has a Redshift... and a ****load of Alta batteries

Welcome to the club, Tony! We would be very happy to charge our bikes at 2C. Although, this may not be the best moment to introduce such a product to the market. Faster charging reduces the lifespan on the batteries, so before we risk that we should wait for Alta to start producing new...

Go Go Charger, other chargers, adapters

Yes, they do have those generators, but you would need to import two small ones, or one large generator, which would cost ~$4K. And you won't be able to use that generator for anything else other than charging the Alta. For that money it is cheaper, simpler, and more practical to buy one of...

VIN #444 that is still on the dealer's floor in Ohio? I am pretty sure it does.

    Displays

I would pay at least $500 to the guy who programs a button that would give me 65 hp! And another $500 for the button that will do wheelies for me.
