You wouldn't be able to do burnouts on the SM, or prevent endoing on a jump on the MX, if the wheelspin was limited to just 15% over the bike's speed. I do like the traction in Map 1 when climbing the uphills. We do want more maps though. You can't holeshot in Map 1, or climb steep and fast...

Mike, could you please educate us what makes Ohlins shocks and forks magic, or better than a properly valved KYB/Showa/WP? FYI, I have an Ohlins suspension of my car. It works well, but I do not know if I would call it magic. What makes you call it that?

For my 200 lbs weight I like the stock 60N spring for ride and handling. But I will be trying the 63N spring if I want more confidence when jumping, I have one left over from my MX. There are MX owners here who have 63N springs lying around, so you can save a few bucks by buying a used stock...

:eek: I'd recommend trying the 63N/mm (6.4kg/mm) first. You are a little heavier than Fog but probably not faster, are you?

I think the Alta's motion ratio is different from the KX, and you weigh 50lbs more than the Alta's target rider. You can compensate by riding slower, but I do not know if this is what you want to do. It is too soft for motocross, especially if you are a jumper. But should be okay for trail riding.

Most 4-strokes have had this form of traction control for a long-long time. They didn't advertise it though because it was against the AMA rules. I used to work in ALMS back in ~2005. They just started allowing traction control there, and all of a sudden many cars started making weird noises...

You could probably install it on the MXR with the MX linkage, but I wouldn't do it. Maybe @Mark911 could pitch in, in case he is using the same shock. He is using a KTM linkage on his MX.

Brand new pegs look just like this too. The OEM pegs are never overly sharp, perhaps not to have customers complaining that their boots get worn prematurely. The grip vs. the boot wear is always a compromise.

So with these we now can charge our Redshift SM bikes from public charging stations around town? If so, why didn't Alta or our current/former Zero owners tell us about it?!! :mad:

They are not as grippy as most aftermarket pegs, but they feel the same as all other dirt bike stock pegs, and they are not nearly as slippery as the MX stock pegs. I upgraded my MX pegs almost immediately, but I still have the stock pegs on my MXR.

Maybe that would have made Monster less unhappy. But I prefer more transparency and less lying/hiding.
