240V Inverter in a Van or Truck

Some more important details that I almost forgot about: Two deep cycle batteries is okay, but you really need to get two more to be able to charge from 0%-100% without having to take a break and let the batteries catch up. WIRE Gauge has to be thick otherwise you are going to burn it up and...

    Tesla Powerwall

Recently @rayivers introduced us all to an idea of having a Tesla Powerwall installed in your van. He said it's cool, but the $6.6K + installation price tag made it not as cool as it were if it also had been cheap. However, I keep coming back to this idea. This is simply because the gas...

240V Inverter in a Van or Truck

I have been researching how to install a big 12V - 240V inverter in my van. Not long ago @WoodsWeapon mentioned a guy on VitalMX who had such a setup. I managed to get a hold of him, but he referred me to his more electrically skilled friend, who actually came up with this installation recipe...

    Owner's Review Technical Review

I thought Alta used to have an answer to that in their FAQ on their website, but I just went there and could not find it. However, my memory is working today: You can easily convert an MX into an SM, but you will have somewhat underpowered front brakes. It is much more difficult to convert an...

    The Alta Factory LHRB

The off-the-shelf hose is KTM P/N 60032063100. It is from the 2014+ KTM Adventure. The length is perfect, it matches the Brembo clutch master cylinder at the top and the Clake rear master cylinder insert at the bottom. There is just one caveat... it has a 90deg bend near the banjo fitting...

@Bionicman -- What is MoM? Is it a typo or a new acronym that everyone should be aware of?

I rarely touch that run switch. It usually stays ON on my bikes. It does not kill all the power. Only the key does.

    The Alta Factory LHRB

We will see. If I have time, them perhaps today I will install my own Alta LHRB knockoff kit with dual actuation. I will then test it tomorrow and will be able to tell if I still want a bigger rear caliper.

    The Alta Factory LHRB

It would be perfect if it was possible to fully modulate the rear brake with one finger. It should be as powerful as the front brake, and should be easier to lock up than the front brake.

    The Alta Factory LHRB

Those CR calipers won't create an increase in the braking force that we are looking for. You need a bigger total piston area. Two (small) pistons does not always mean the total piston area is larger. What you simply need is a caliper from a heavier bike. Perhaps even a single piston KTM...

Which calipers are they for? Those adapters/cariers are easy to make. The calipers can be expensive though, $200 used.
