Agreed & appreciate the feedback! My motivation would be to insert fresh fluid cleaning out any manufacturing tolerance metal flakes or debri. I may delay the service a bit but will insert some fresh fluid at some point. I appreciate everyone’s input & help!

Long shot but it’d be nice if suppliers were notified so we (owners) could continue to cut the middle man (Alta) out of equation & purchase components directly from them. Even if we had to buy in bulk (500) units of whatever. It’s better than Suck IT!! With an inoperative motorcycle.

Hmm perhaps a CAN termination plug isn’t the only answer. Then we get into building a circuit to mimic the display to ping the ACM controller with correct packet response.. Seems like the ultimate answer is to just build a replacement display. Because no matter how you protect the display...
