Presumably if it's for an R pack, it would work. If it's for an A pack, not so much.

I would also assume price point, lead acid is much cheaper. And like you said, there is almost no penalty for weight with this application.

I have been looking at this mower, but I have mixed feelings about the fact that it uses lead acid batteries... Won't have the same potential for performance, but replacement cost will be a small fraction of lithium.

Or they just park it between runs to power a few small cities.

The interesting question is will the dual sport version be imported... Or strictly off road.

If you're using the Alta as a benchmark, it never had a chance... You definitely need to lower your standards here.

I have had good luck with the cheaper Ryobi equipment on my yard, but I have pretty low standards for a lawn. As long as it is mostly the same height, and short enough not to be a mosquito haven, I'm happy.

May would probably be easier to manage, October is usually a pretty busy month for me.

No suction indeed, I just use the mulching mode with mine. And it does take a slightly different technique than an ICE mower to achieve the same result, but once you adapt to the difference it is a much more pleasant machine to operate.

I have the Ryobi 40v stuff too, it may be light and a little flimsy, but it has held up to my abuse surprisingly well for several years now.

I think it is all dependant on the importer, if they want to spend the effort to earn DOT approval. It's a whole lot easier to just import off road only toys.

September 23rd thru 27ish is what I had put down on my calendar...

The price may be steep, but that's par for the course for "new" technology. In a few more years electric lawn care equipment will be much more commonplace and prices will begin to match ICE powered equipment according to my crystal ball.

Very interesting... Been in the market for a new yard maintenance tool. Haven't seen this one yet though.
