Do we have anyone here in the Durham NC area that is willing/able to check out a MXR for sale at a dealer? The potential buyer wants to make sure the bike doesn't have any Code 36 issues. The dealer doesn't have the right version of MT to check for this. The VIN is 419, it's a 2018 MRX demo...

Ditto above, riding style has a ton to do with the deltas. I have a MX and have gone 47 miles. Usually 42 is comfortably attainable. If I'm racing, I can use half a charge in 8 miles.

I just got an email from customer service at MotoSport. The manufacturer has discontinued the switch.

The Trail Tech part number is 8500-RS

I also ordered them from Amazon several months ago, that order was canceled too. I had forgotten about that. I don't see that Liquid has any listed on Ebay.

MotoSport listed the Trail Tech 8500-RS for sale. I've ordered from them twice, both times they have cancelled my orders. I see Trail Tech does not list the part number on their website any longer. Does any have a suggestion for an online retailer?

The consensus is that the chargers have proprietary FW from Alta installed on them. A standard charger will not be able to communicate with the bike, therefore off the shelf parts won't likely work either.

Ah, you beat me to it. This ramp up and then drop in amps is what I was experiencing with my MX when connected to my new Honda EU2200 a couple of weekends ago. I was trying to explain this to @snydes. I wonder why it does that. Maybe too close to the max amps on a typical household 15amp...

I agree, I think there was a running change. For haha's I tried my EU1000 when I got the Alta, it didn't trip the GFCI. I ran across some OSHA or ART law regarding bonded vs floating neutral. I didn't take the time to research further.

How could we not be aware of this function?

I took a quick look inside my EU2200. It seems pretty easy to splice in a wire to ground using the neutral wire on the parallel cable circuit. If I install a m/f spade terminal on this new wire, I can open up the access panel and connect the spade terminals to bond neutral, then I can pull it...

Yup, at first I thought it was the rum, but I'm puzzled, too. I suspect this is a coincidence, but a happy coincidence.

The condition described above is cause by the EU2200 generator being "Neutral Floating" which by nature does not work with GFCI plugs, such as installed on the Alta chargers. The fix is to use a jumper in the other electrical outlet which connects the ground pin to the neutral pin (as @raysted...
