Maximizing Range for the Stark Varg

First of all, i use my Stark MX in about any condition except for streetriding. Sand MX, Hardpack MX, Sand fast Enduro, CrossCountry, Hard Enduro, SM and everything in between. In MX the 14-48 pretty much does the tric perfectly although i could see a bit taller gearing work. In The Fast Enduro...

Maximizing Range for the Stark Varg

I allready used the 15-48 setup and i didn't really like it in slow scenario's.

Multiple weeks Hard Enduro trip, what to bring?

I don't have a clue, i didn't bother looking before or after. However distance will be short since a lott of it involved crawlspeed.

Maximizing Range for the Stark Varg

I don't think you will get better range in hard Enduro with taller gearing. The wheel/motor speeds are so low you will stay well in its operating area. There is plenty of torque on tap, but not a lot of power at crawl speed in sensibel horsepower modes. And in the end it's power that moves you...

Maximizing Range for the Stark Varg

Depending on what you're doing. I ran 14-48 last Hard Enduro holiday and in the more trial bits a noticed that it's less reactive and and slower to lift the front. A 13 (or even 12) worked better there. This bike has been put to a huge array of use cases wich you wouldn't soon consider with a...

Maximizing Range for the Stark Varg

However do keep a map at handy for not too technical downhills. I had map 1 at 10hp/100% regen for downhills. In the mountains i've seen multiple % per downhill being added. Over a day at Boade i think i have close to 10% regenerated. That is free range. That map 1 was also very usefull in very...

    Lackluster Cooling System Performance

You can only start the fan and pump when it's charging and i usually do. I also use a big fan to blow past the battery. Not very focussed. But again, i allready had it, it uses 60W so the generator doesn't mind. And again, very minimal affect if any but also very cheap. If you don't run dirty...

    Lackluster Cooling System Performance

Yeah the whole water misters is a bad idea, but was to illustrate a point that evap is what gets heat away. Maybe on the grid while fast charging for SM it will have some added value for the minimal cost and effort (a spraybottle and some water is worth a shot).

Stark Varg MX vs EX fitment plastic

    Mind to share a picture?

Stark Varg MX vs EX fitment plastic

It needs to be vertical and in the OEM tailtidy shape it allready hits my rear wheel when landing a jump. How is it not hitting when its vertical?

Stark Varg MX vs EX fitment plastic

That finds the rear wheel quickly. I think the 2 options from Stark are about the 2 best options there are.

Multiple weeks Hard Enduro trip, what to bring?

I had the 4kW generator with me. Wich was overkill. At all 4 Enduro parks (Pascuet, Boade, Rougepaule, Bilstain) i could (slow) charge the bikes over night. Nowhere i was able to drain the entire battery. If it was less hot at Pascuet etc (35-42C) and i had ridden with faster/better riders i...

    BEST Replacement Side Stand KIT?

I had just that bracket. But the screws came out and ripped the thread. My bad for not using threadlocker and retightening it after some time. Furter it worked like a charm, you could do pivot turn on the sidestand with that bracket. Just thinking about that will snap the OEM. Ordered it again...

You have the same MX1.0 as me don't you with the non-brembo LHRB? I did a short test on the EX and that has the same Brembo LHRB as the newer 1.0 or 1.2 MX. That felt significantly stronger.

Indeed. And i know it's not technically posible as how the bike is build now, but i would like a parking brake as well. Now crawl mode kind of does that, but it drains power and the fan will turn on after some while and start being annoying. I want something like putting an ICE in gear. Leave...

Mine also has trouble blocking the bike and me on a steep downhill. I however have the ''luxery'' of hands the size some manufacturers don't even make gloves for so the pull is doable.

    Lackluster Cooling System Performance

In the end you could compare it to the rear end of the engines, since those are a bit further away from the "power source" and run bearings and a gear just like the Stark. Not in the amount of heat they are generating but more the environment in wich bearings seem to be perfectly happy and have...

    Lackluster Cooling System Performance

That is something i think i will do to my SM setup. In MX/enduro it will become a mess i think. Along with removing my bashplate from now on. I do have an extra panel so i could just swap it when doing SM These are small not to intrusive things that i guess will make the biggest difference.

My hand rear brake is quite weak as wel however that might just be the concept of braking with a hand on a small disc.
