Thinking electric... again... garage full of parts still

I think I have mentioned this to you before, not sure where you are in Maine, but I got my Starks from Motorbikes Plus in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Really happy with the service and attention from those guys. I bought my KTMs from them over the years and they were great with my Vargs as well.

Thinking electric... again... garage full of parts still

Gasoline fires are dangerous as well. I think the risk of fire with my Varg is lower than with my gas bikes. My WR450 pre aftermarket fan would actually boil the gas. One day I came in from a ride and put my WR in the garage. My young son was in the garage playing, he came and got me a few...

Any recommended Lock on grips for the Varg?

I have installed the OEM grips many times on my Starks including on new throttles. Since my use case is Enduro and my bikes take a lot of drops. The original stock install is usually a pretty easy removal since they are just force fit on the bars with no glue as far as I could tell. I use...

    Gummy tires? Tire recommendations?

I think those still get a lot of use in soft terrain and are still popular. For the rocky rooty stuff a lot of folks use the JX8. Mostly depends on the terrain you ride I think.

    Gummy tires? Tire recommendations?

Interesting. Inoue/IRC is a Japanese company so maybe they have a contract to provide tires for Japanese European export. Most reviews here compare the IRC JX8 Gekkota to the Michelin Extreme and they mostly come down to terrain/choice and compare well. The IRC is slightly less expensive in...

    Gummy tires? Tire recommendations?

Ahh good to know that explains it. IRC is very popular here in the US among HE, enduro, and trail riders. Agree with your point about sidewall the IRC JX8 would fit the bill.

    Gummy tires? Tire recommendations?

Ya I agree the soft gummy would wear too much.

    Gummy tires? Tire recommendations?

I am still wearing out the stock tires. But on my other bikes (KTM 300 2T and Yam WR450) I use IRC JX8s and ix09s which I also plan to use on my MX. The ix09s are a more of pure gummy, the JX8 are kind of a hybrid. Almost all of my riding is semi HE or single in northeast US which means mud...

Other Bikes about helmets standards, lifespans and how they are sold

Rules clearly don't matter one way or the other when it comes to delicious high quality food that is generally healthy. Lots of countries could learn from Italy on that. Look at the Brits they had to import Indians, Pakistanis, and folks from the West Indies to fix it... :ricky:

Other Bikes about helmets standards, lifespans and how they are sold

I am not sure. Maybe that depends on where you live. Here in the States at least, the first place that costs are cut and margins increased by brands on imported goods is by reducing quality control. And more, the weekend warrior who cracks his skull crashing into a tree with his ATV and...

Other Bikes about helmets standards, lifespans and how they are sold

Helmets can be a dicey experience and it is probably the most important gear choice a rider will make. Most of the major name helmets are made in one or two Chinese factories. They mostly differ in fit and finish and the up-to-date models typically meet the most rigorous specs. Like you, I have...

General mountain biking as a cross training for motocross

I also ride MTB enduro and moto trails/HE and agree no question it helps. From strength, balance, depth perception, and control on top the aerobic training --MTB helps in numerous ways and that is why many pro MXers mountain bike and bicycle in general. If you can MTB on similar terrain to...

    Varg - Gear Oil Change

Not sure if anyone has really determined the root cause. I have been using Lucas synthetic gear oil the additives may look a little milky. I regularly flush out the cavity with fresh oil before change and change it often. I doubt whether the water blast is the cause. Maybe add new oil and try it...

Media Review Carson Brown laptime comparison: 500 2T vs Varg @ Pastranaland

Besides the racing, those guys are awesome. Roczen is the best, I loved that TrollTrain video with AMart, Filthy Phil, and Ken. Hilarious. AMart: Phil ate shit. Phil: You waxed us. Ken: I didn't wax you I was only a few seconds ahead before you crashed... :ricky:

Button Unit get Stuck with dirt, Varg EX and MX

It would be nice if there were a way to break this kind of bureaucratic stranglehold --kind of like how free software loosened things in computing. Many of the burdens of the logistics seems like unnecessary protectionism. Opportunities like the Varg where there are lots of ways to for local...

Stark Varg Frame and Motor Guards

Has your part been approved by Stark? I recently had to return the excellent AXP skid plate due to potential of compromising the warranty.

Stark In need of a dealer who works on a Stark

Something doesn't sound right you should contact Stark ASAP. Your bike is under warranty and they are chewing up your warranty period for no apparent reason --ordering the parts should not be that difficult to "fit in". You should try to re-arrange the warranty with Stark BTW. TBH on a slightly...

Button Unit get Stuck with dirt, Varg EX and MX

Just a follow up here. Following the warranty concerns, Slavens sent out a notice and asked me to return the plate for a full refund which I did. I used the AXP successfully on both my Vargs but I was unwilling to take a chance with the warranty.
