Access the 80 HP by removing the limit screw! Seriously though, this is an excellent idea. Instead of buying short or long throttles, make the throttle travel physically adjustable.

Flip the upper banjo. You'd have to twist the hose, it can take a 180-degree twist. Not optimal but better than other alternatives.
