    2023 Honda CRF250R with QS138 70H V3 Motor and EM260S Controller

There was a guy with a very long Molicel P45B, P50B comparison on youtube. In short, the 50 is only a very slight improvement over the 45. In the real world the gains are not nearly what the data sheet reflects. The difference in the 42A and 45B was night and day. Going to the 45B made the Varg...

Austin Forkner talks about Stark Varg

After much playing with throttle "curves" I really don't believe in them. If you make one section of rotation less sensitive, the other becomes more sensitive. So you have made it better for one case, and worse for another. With ICE you can regulate how sensitive the throttle is by gear...

Broke my map control switch ‘17 ex

At first I thought that too, but then i zoomed in and took a closer look. If the switches were all present and on the bottom side you would expect the sharp part of the pins to be protruding from all of the pads. However, a number of pads seem to lack this and it even looks as if the copper of...

Broke my map control switch ‘17 ex

It is standard convention for the switches to be on the same side of the PCB as the silk screen symbols. To me it looks like the switches have been sheared off and are still in the mud. It looks fixable with replacement switches and a soldering iron.

    General Poll, response appreciated

I have had a clutch on Varg for a long time. The ideas behind it are somewhat different than with Flux (at least as what I know about Flux). The electronics do have inputs where a clutch can be connected, it is just that having a clutch is against the leaderships vision. However, that...

TAKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alpha Now only $10,900 OTD

Hey, the Varg is a one speed :) I have had hondas and suzukis.. have a soft spot for zooks -- always a good deal and never let me down. I plan to use it for for a mix of city riding and mountain trails in Croatia along with roads connecting the trails. Should be fine for that -- prefer it to...

TAKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alpha Now only $10,900 OTD

It has long been evident that you are not bleeding edge tolerant -- neither am I. I gave you a "heads up" and you ignored it. And no, I did not buy a Varg. The next bike I buy will be this --

TAKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alpha Now only $10,900 OTD

I have made it clear that I am not employed by Stark Future nor am I a fan of the company. I am not defending the bike. It is not a secret that it is not a reliable machine and that it has water ingress problems. It is just that you are a constant complainer -- even before you received your...

TAKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alpha Now only $10,900 OTD

You really should have taken my advice and not bought a stark.

    General Poll, response appreciated

Yes, i know about those. That is really an interesting in combination with a twist throttle. You could set the twist throttle for lets say 40HP, then use the thumb for the full 80HP beans. That would be another way to loft the front end while keeping the bike controllable with the twist...

    General Poll, response appreciated

I have been doing a bit more thinking about this and have decided to move forward with it. IMO, using a twist throttle as the only input is not the way to go. Quite a while ago I did a bit of physics/math to implement a clutch. The main aim is to be able to keep the bike in a relatively low...

stark won’t go into gear after being washed

Chances that it is the battery is low (not low battery but low probability the the battery is at fault). The weak points are the small white JST connectors behind the number plate and the switch assembly itself. Un-connect the connectors and take the switch assembly apart. Dry with hair dryer...

Hill Hold -- Stark, please make it Optional

What about this... If the bike is in forward crawl mode it can be pushed forward but not backward. If the bike is in reverse crawl mode then it can be pushed in reverse but not forward. Would that work better? Edit: an option that keeps the bike from rolling backward when in normal riding mode...

Looks quite nice. Edit: Is there a 12V battery for the lights?

    NACS or CCS Varg charging

Those connectors are huge, especially CCS. They take up a lot of space and weight even on a "large" street bike. Nobody was thinking about motorcycles when deciding for DC charging standards. That said, just like Philip said, it wouldn't be difficult to make an adapter cable with comms...

Owner's Review Stark Varg - First Customer Review!

The marketing material quotes rear wheel torque which is subject to gearing ratios. The motor itself has a peak torque of about 80Nm. It can deliver this torque from 0 RPM to about 7000RPM. From 7000RPM to 13000RPM the torque will gradually drop from 80NM to 45Nm. These are just rough numbers...

    General Poll, response appreciated

The same fundamental problem still exists. If you are on the throttle when the rear wheel loses contact with the ground the front will rise and rear will lower unless you perfectly time closing the throttle a bit when the rear leaves the ground and open a bit when the rear contacts the ground...

    General Poll, response appreciated

What happens is the electric motor spins up the rear wheel very quickly after it leaves the ground. This raises the front and lowers the rear, causing the rear to slam into the next whoop. I have written software to mitigate this and given it to Stark Future about a year ago. I don't know if...

    General Poll, response appreciated

You will have the ability to enable wheelie control if you want it; and select the angle. I mentioned autopilot/drone where it knows pitch, yaw, roll. The pitch axis gives you wheelie control. That part is actually easier than the traction.

AMA and Electric Motorcycles in AMA races

That is pretty shitty on on the part of FIM. The only thing I can think of is this: Which is 120.4kg. Put in normal tubes, lights, etc and we are at 123kg. That is with 400 cells in the battery. Stark has been known to run 200 and 300 cell batteries. This prevents them from doing that. The...
