My first oil change was at 3hrs, 44min. The stuff that came out looked nothing at all like oil, it looked like melted ice-cream. You might want to consider being more proactive than I was, and invest in the liter I mentioned.

What kind of range are you getting on your EX while road riding? I've run SM wheels on my MX and was very disappointed with how far I could go at 65-70 mph.

Or, just CHECK gear oil. If there's nothing in there, I'm sure it would be loud. FYI, I run Mobil1 full synthetic 75w-90 and change my oil every 4 to 5 hours of riding.

I've got a lot buddies that all have EX's on order that are NOT gonna like this. Most have ridden my bike (2024 Alpha) and remark how loud the whine is.

Check with the folks that made your new wheels. My SM 17" wheels were actually ordered for my KTM EXC and fit my Varg perfectly.

What's the real deal here... true or not true? I find it difficult to believe that if Philip posted it, that it's not legit.

I'm running a stock length chain and found the 12/49 combo to be pretty similar to stock (which on my 2024 Varg Alpha was 14/47) for wheelbase. When I ran the 13/49 I was rubbing the mudflap enough to leave marks from the knobby tire, but I appreciated the even shorter rear-to-center. Note here...

Just for giggles, I hit 80.8 mph while riding back from my training course today (per the stats on my Varg phone) with the 12/49 combo. It was all dirt, pretty straight and not too whooped out. Just a twist of the throttle for only a few seconds. I'm sure there was more to be had.

Have you tested and confirmed this? I played with mine on a long downhill, and never saw a rise in battery percentage. Okay, what I did wasn't a very scientific test, but if you have more hardcore data, please share.
