Charging Settings Don't Apply

I have an EX model and haven't been able to get the charger settings to apply. I've been going around and around with support and they keep asking me to update the firmware or the app version but I am already on the latest of both so I'm coming here to see if anyone else has run into this and figured out how to make the settings apply. Long story short: whatever settings I choose it always charges at full charge speed to 100%.

Step 1 Update settings:
Open the app > go to charge settings > Set charge speed to 1kw/h and max charge to 80% > Save settings > See popup that settings were applied
Step 2 Plug In Charger:
Plug charger into 120V outlet > plug charger into bike
Step 3 Observe:
When viewing the screen in landscape orientation the charge speed shows 3.3kw/h (which is not even achievable on a 120V outlet - this appears to be a display issue)
When viewing the screen in portrait orientation the charge speed shows 1.6-7kw/h
Bike charges to 100% regardless of max charge setting.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I had the same issue from day one that I got my EX. Support told me to uninstall my app updates, which automatically forces your app to reinstall everything, and that fixed it. They sent me a short video how to uninstall app updates, but I can describe it if you don't have that

I reset the app again and re-applied the updates and it is now working correctly. I'm not sure if this made the difference but on the second try I force closed the app after uninstalling the updates and before trying to re-apply them.

I don't have a video to share but here's the process the support team provided:
Uninstall all updates in the app settings (long press the app icon > app info > top three dots > uninstall updates) and then open the app and update to the latest version.
