Receiving my EX in May.

I store my dirtbike in a storage unit that’s ~30 minutes from my house and I’m wondering what I should do charging wise. My friend with the MX model says he keeps his bike at 50% charge then switches it to charge to 100% the night before riding.

What might I do if I don’t want to have to drive to my storage unit to top off the bike? Can you remote into the phone somehow and tell it to start charging?

The following information holds good for my MX; I guess it should be the same for the EX.
If you feel like leaving the motorcycle unattended while charging, which is against what is recommended in the manual, then you can just leave it plugged and set the maximum charge in the Varg app, so it will receive a low current to keep it at that state of charge.
Personally, I keep my bike in the garage and I don't leave the house nor I go to sleep while it's under charge. I wouldn't leave the bike somewhere 30 minutes away from me under charge.

I'm not sure anything like that exists in the app (yet). There are wifi enabled power plugs that I used to turn on heat in a few rooms at home remotely when I've been away with no heating on in the house. If there is wifi at your storage place you'd be able to turn it on remotely a few hours before going to get your bike.

I remember there was a YouTube video on exactly this.

Maybe you could use the Stark phone as a wireless hotspot, keep it plugged into a wall so that it doesn't die, set up a smart plug, plug the charger into that, and then turn on that smart plug from your other phone. I think the YouTube video said it could be done only once because next time you'd need to unplug the charger from the bike, but maybe this is all you need if you are going to be visiting it regularly.
