Anyone know if it would be possible to charge the Varg with an EV J1772 plug? I have EV's in my house and it would be nice to plug into their chargers.
J1772 is not a charger, it is just a source of AC power. The car and the wall unit talk back and forth and come to an agreement. The car and wall unit tell each other how much power they can take, if the connector is actually plugged in, and the wall unit doesn't energize the cord until the everything is in agreement. You can charge an Alta SM from a J1772, with an adaptor, since it has an onboard charger, but not the EX or MX. You could use the same adaptor to power an EX or MX charger, but you would need to have the charger with you. Not sure on the Stark. If it has an onboard charger then possible with an adaptor. No onboard charger, then you need an adaptor and a charger.
I have some videos of me trying to charge the Redshift SM with an EVSE adapter I can never get it to work with public chargers though. I use this to charge my Sur Ron Light Bee with a 240V charger.
