Coming back from an injury is not easy. Take it slow and prioritize your health first. If you need to ride a smaller bike, so be it. I was out for many years after a knee injury. After that, I realized that I still do not enjoy anything as much as motocross. So I first trained on mountain bikes 2-3 times a week and then on my CR250 for a few months until the knee stopped swelling up and became stronger. Then bought a CRF250, which felt like a moped, but this was exactly what I needed at that time. Then I bought bigger bikes to challenge me physically, which was fun, but then I sold them when I bought my first Alta!
