I received most of the components needed to install the MotoMinded Light Kit on our MXR!

Here is a quick...ish installation guide for the new light kit:

Step 1: Prepare the headlight and test fit brackets

Use the mounting hardware included with the kit to mount the MotoMinded/Baja Designs light in the mask.

Install the rubber dampers in the upper headlight/display bracket

You will reuse the tapered screws and aluminum washers from the bar pad (see later step) to mount the display to this bracket.

Step Two:

Remove the bar pad by clipping the two zip ties and carefully move the display out of the way
IMG_7577.jpg
Then remove the number plate to gain access to the wiring and clip the cable ties holding the display wire in place
IMG_7580.jpg
disconnect the display wire by carefully lifting the tab and pulling the connector apart

Now you can remove the screws and washers holding the display on the bar pad. You will reuse these later

Resue the mounting screws and washers to attach the display to the upper bracket.

Remove the seat bolt with an 8mm socket

Now remove the mounting hardware for the seat pan (the lower screws have bushings that need to stay with the screws!)

I like to reinsert the screws into the fender for safe keeping. Mounting the hardware in the fender helps me keep track of the bolts and spacers while I am working on other things.
