Beta announced up front in the press release that it was an Apollo partnership. The design features have way more potential than a Light Bee, more in line with an Ultra Bee without the jackshaft.
The dealer network alone is a big thing, with a great warranty. Sur Ron is apparently dropping direct to customer and going with powersports dealers also. Adjustable peg and bar positions, quicker swap battery, 18" rear wheel, full sized seat, real handlebar mounts, full sized styling, all point to a great platform with tons more potential.
